as you know, you need characters. main character(s), supporting characters etc etc..

i'm going to tell/explain to y'all different types of characters and how to build them.

PRIMARY CHARACTERS

the main/major characters. they play a HUGE role in your book. the book could revolve around them or their actions could make the story come together.

protagonist:

the main character. the story revolves around them.

antagonist:

the character who makes/adds/starts the conflict. the "trouble maker" they 9/10 have beef with the main/protagonist character. which it would be very unique if the antagonist was a brother/sister to the love interest or the protagonist.

supporting characters:

these characters could be parents, relatives, mentors, love interest or anybody. they have their own things going on in their own world. their problems (drama, goals & etc) could have a minor influence on the protagonists. but their issues should not play a huge influence in the book.

background characters:

they have no purpose whatsoever. they have a couple of speaking lines then they gtf on!
