As I was about to overspeed and crash my car, my phone rang. I closed my eyes once and looked at the phone. It was my dad. I pulled over and sighed loudly. I cleared my throat before picking up his call. "Hi, pumpkin!" he greeted happily. I smiled at his voice.

"Hi, Daddy" I said hoarsely. There was a second of silence before he broke it. "Do I hear cars around you? Did you go out for a spin in your new car?" he asked laughing a little. I forced out a chuckle, "Yeah, I, erm, yeah, for about 15 minutes now"

"Good, I hope - Ok, I can't do this, pumpkin, what is it? Did something happen? I can feel something happened when you answered your phone" he said worriedly. I gave out. I started crying on the phone. "Pumpkin, w-what is it? Why are you crying, Y/N?"

"Daddy, can you come here?"

"To Hertfordshire?"

"Yeah, I - Something happened, can you please-"

"Okay, Y/N, I'll take the next flight home, okay?"

"Okay" I cooed before I hung up the phone. I wiped my cheeks and headed home. All that day, I waited for my dad to be home. He's going to be here in about 10 hours, if he actually takes the next flight home. I spent that time playing the piano.

Exactly after 10 hours, just like I predicted, my dad was home. The doorbell rang and I ran to open it. He smiled warmly at me, before I started crying in his arms. He pulled me in, Mick following behind. We sat on the couch and he pulled my chin up. Wiping my tears, he said, "Now, what is it, pumpkin? What happened to you that you look so wrecked?"

And I told him everything. From the beginning, when I started catching feelings for Tom, how we shared two moments where we were going to kiss each other, how he was the reason I didn't move to America, how we fought on prom, how I lost the apartment and moved in with him, how I fell in love with him, how we shared that one drunken night, how we went to Hawaii and had those moments, how I confessed, how he didn't, how he broke my heart, how I tried to normal about it and how he started dating Jade.

I could see he got angry for a few parts of the story. He pulled me in a hug, "I'm sorry, you had to go through this alone, pumpkin. I wish I could just stay by you all the time" I smiled lightly and snuggled into his chest.

"Look, Y/N, I'm not going to say that you're right or he is right. The both of you are right in your own place and wrong as well. Pumpkin..." he said putting a finger under my chin and lifting my face, "People fall in love with people who don't love them back, it's life, that happens, Romeo and Juliet, Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy and all the other romantic crap couples you read about..." he said making me chuckle a little, "They're the example, honey, not the rule. Just because it happened for them, doesn't mean it's going to happen for us as well"

"But, Daddy-"

"What is he yours?" he asked cutting me off. "I - I don't know-"

"You do, you just don't want to say it because you don't want it to be true, you don't want to take that path, but really, ask yourself, how many years have you known each other?"

"21"

"Exactly, pumpkin, I'm really sorry, you had to go through this, but think about it, if you don't talk to him, get to understand him or even let him live his life, you're not only going to lose your love, but your best friend, your co-star, your therapist and everything. There's going to be a point in your life where you'll fall in love with someone else- Did I ever tell you the story about a girl named Veronica?" he asked cutting himself off. I shook my head.

"There was this girl, when I was in high school, I loved her, a lot, but I was not her type, I tried a lot, but I cannot force someone to love me, can I? So, I confessed, she didn't like me back, she humiliated me, a lot. It took me a few years, I'm not saying that it'll happen within a few days or months, it may happen but it may not, then when I completed college, I met your mother and I'm so thankful that I did, pumpkin. She understood me in ways no one could, she gave me you and Julius, I was so happy, she helped me succeed, she helped me be the man I am today. Someday, you'll find it too and you'll be happy for it. Trust me"
