Two years later...

"Good morning, ma'am" the receptionist, Hannah, said as I entered the building. "Good morning, hunny" I said to the young girl at the front desk.

I took a sip of my coffee and headed to my office, the same one that my father sat in everyday. I eventually moved out of my Dad's big apartment into my own.

I can't believe that was two years ago. Two years of my life, I devoted to my dad's business, I did respect his wishes, I still worked as an actress but I didn't go to any premieres, or do any interviews or go to any award shows.

I didn't look back at my life. Not at Emma, Daniel, Rupert, James, Oliver or.... Tom. He made it very clear that he doesn't want me in his life. He didn't call me back.

I gave it a lot of thought - maybe he didn't get the message, the girl sounded mean, maybe she didn't give him the message. I thought about giving him another chance, but even if the girl didn't give him the message, he could've seen my name in his call logs.

He could've called but he didn't.

Simple - he doesn't want me in his life.

I can accept that.

I think...

I sighed as I opened my office's door and headed in. I didn't change anything and kept it just like my dad did. I straightened his picture frame on my desk as I placed my coffee down.

I groaned as I didn't see the reports that were due today. I pressed my intercom and called the respective employee. "Hi, Y/N" Bob greeted me.

"Hi, Bob. You know today's date?" I asked looking at the calender. "Erm, 6th February, 2019" he answered as he entered my office. "Does that ring a bell?" I asked looking at him.

"Yes, Y/N, I'm sorry, erm, I had a lot of deadlines-"

"So, you forgot mine? Bob, sweetheart, don't I give you enough holidays, or paid vacations or leaves? Come on, you have got to respect the deadline. I'll let it go this time, hand me the report as soon as possible" I said dismissing him.

"Hi, Hannah" I said as she buzzed the intercom. "Hi, I have Michelle for you at the front desk" she stated. "Send her in" I said and waited for her.

"Y/N!" Michelle greeted as she handed me a card invite. I took it from her hand, looked at the fromt page - The Grand Gala and stuffed it with my other mails.

"Come on, you're not going to this as well?" She asked sitting in front of the desk. "I think I'm clear enough to include a clause in my contracts that I won't be doing anything else than acting, M" I said turning to my laptop and checking my mails.

"Well, fair enough. But I just came in to hand you this. Have a good day" she said and left the office.

"Aunty Y/N!" Alexi exclaimed as she came running towards me. "Alexi!" I exclaimed back and picked up the girl into my arms. "Hey, honey" Nick said as he took the little girl and pecked my cheek.

The both of them sat in front of my desk and anxiously waited for their loved one. "Julius is finishing up a meeting, he'll be back in a few" I said as I looked through ny mails.

"Bill... Bill... Premiere invite... Bill... Gala invite... Bill-" I said as I shuffled through the piles of mails. "Woah, woah, did you say Gala?" Nick asked stopping me.

"Yeah" I handed him the invite.

"Dear Miss Y/L/N, you are cordially invited to the Annual 78th Grand Gala Fundraiser

"Dear Miss Y/L/N, you are cordially invited to the Annual 78th Grand Gala Fundraiser. It is a formal black & white tie event. We request you to attend with a plus one. We specially request you to perform an art - your best, a singing performance at the event. All the proceedings from your performance and the others will go for cancer research and underrated arts."

Nick read the invite as Julius entered the office. "Hey, baby" he said kissing Nick and sitting on the table. "What were you guys talking about?" He asked taking my coffee. I tried to snatch it back but he just put his hand on my face and pushed me back.

There's nothing much you can do when you're short.

"Talking about the invite that they specially printed for Y/N" Nick said as he handed the card to Julius. I started working on some reports as Julius read it.

"You should go" he said softly. I gazed my eyes to him and then back at the laptop ignoring his statement. "For dad" he added and all the walls I put up broke because of those two words.

"It says that I need to perform, the event is in three days, two if we don't count today, I don't know what to sing and I don't even have a dress" I said closing my laptop. Nick fist bumped in the air making me roll my eyes.

"Keith will handle that - he's handled all of your dresses" Nick said pulling his phone out.

"Mention that it's a formal event. I can't wear tight 'red carpet' dresses or those with the dramatic splits, it's inappropriate-"

"I think he knows what a 'Black & White tie' formal event is. But I will tell him to make you look like a goddess, you'll be appearing in one of these after two years! You have to look great!" I rolled my eyes again at the excitement of Nick.

"I still have to sing" I added making Julius think a little, "Anything by Lana Del Rey will be great!" He said (or should I say slytherin_thingsss said ;)) making me nod. "I'll look into it later"

"I need a plus one!" I said taking the card from the desk. "Ooh! I'll come, please, please, please-" Nick said but before I could agree, Julius said, "It's our anniversary! How dare you?" He gasped dramatically and then looked at me.

"How about Justin?" He asked as I made a disgusting face. "Justin, the CFO of our company? Are you kidding me? He's like very, I don't know, too much for me. I'll ask Stefan, I'm sure Nico wouldn't mind me leaving her with the little twins for one night" I said shaking my head.

"Come on, he's always like that. He just likes to live his life on spot-on decisions. He doesn't like his life planned. He's 32, a year older than you and have you seen him? 6ft tall, piercing grey eyes, auburn hair, sharp jawline" I squint- No, no, Nick and I, both squinted our eyes at him as he kept describing Justin. "And did I mention, he smells great" he stopped and looked at us.

"Do you want to be Justin's date?" Nick asked sarcastically making me laugh. "Don't worry baby, I'm all yours" Julius said quickly kissing his husband.

"Alright, I'll ask him" I groaned as they looked at me. "Fine! I'll go now" I said standing up and heading to the last office on the floor. I knocked on the door - I mean, I don't have to because I am the bloody owner but you gotta respect privacy. "Yes?" I heard a deep voice from inside making me open the door.

"Hey, Justin" I said entering which made him stand up. He was tall. "That's— that's fine, please take a seat" I said and sat on a chair. "What are you doing on Saturday evening?" I asked clapping my hand once.

"I don't know, I haven't got anything—"

"Planned. I know. Well, I was thinking that maybe you'd like to attend a Gala with me on that day, totally platonic friendship" I added quickly and saw his lips curl into a smile.

"Sure, is - is there a theme I should know?" He asked as I stood up and turned around. "Black and White tie" I said not turning around and leaving his office. "But I'm sure you'd look good without it, you big tree" I mumbled as I entered my office.

"So?" Nick and Julius asked together making me jump a little. "I have a date" I said dryly as they squealed like little girls. "Honestly, are you guys even 37?" I asked making them shush me.

"Shhh, Y/N. I'm- We're 33!" Nick said as Keith knocked on my door. The whole day, I didn't get any work done but looked and tried different dresses, searched for some songs, practiced a bit of ballroom dancing and RSVP'ed to the event.

The event where old emotions will find their way back in.... or would they?
