𝓲𝓶𝓪𝓰𝓲𝓷𝓮 - words

𝔀𝓪𝓻𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓰𝓼 - literally none. it's really fluffy and cute and has a little wittle baby saying their first word! 

𝓭𝓮𝓼𝓬𝓻𝓲𝓹𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷 - whilst on tour, the little girl of kennedy maldonado, sister of pentatonix's kirstin maldonado says her first word followed by a full on sentence which as you could imagine, causes a lot of shock for the maldonado sisters and the pentatonix guys

𝓪𝓾𝓽𝓱𝓸𝓻'𝓼 𝓷𝓸𝓽𝓮 - this idea was from quotev and i thought it was very cute so i thought i'd write it and then now however many years later rewrite it because i write so much better than i did when i first started rewriting these lol

kennedy's pov

currently, my sister kirstin and her band pentatonix were on tour and because i had nothing else to do other than being a mother to my baby daughter lavender, we decided to join the band on their tour. so, right now, we were just chilling quietly in scott's dressing room when i suddenly heard kirstin just scream from the tops of her lungs. because i was currently resting on scott, my legs resting over his, i had to clamber over his legs as well as make sure i didn't face plant off the couch before i ran, literally sprinted, out of the room and into kirstin's. 

please tell me that my sister just screamed because there was a spider or a fly she needed rescuing from and not because something had happened to my daughter. 

before i could even think to say anything or announce my presence to help her, kirstin screams again, "GUYS GUYS! LAVENDER JUST SAID HER FIRST WORD!" kirstin screamed as i froze, there was no fly nor any spiders that i needed to rescue my sister and daughter from but, my daughter said her first word?  

"she said what?!" all of our collective voices clamoured together as i scoffed, not able to believe it that kirstin heard lavender's first word before me 

"chill out kennedy, she just said her first word!" kirstin chuckled as if it wasn't her that just screamed bloody fucking murder when it was just lavender's first word

rolling my eyes, i crossed my arms over my chest and reminded her what she just said, "i'm not the one that screamed bloody murder when it was just lavender's first word," i spoke back with an eye roll and tone in my voice as kirstin smiled and gave me the touché look as i too laughed

"okay, fair. you got me there kennedy but, seriously, it was amazing!" kirstin beckoned everyone to come into her dressing room where lavender was just sitting there on the floor with her bug eyes as i couldn't believe that my baby was now talking 

"mamma!" lavender babbled as i wasn't ready for that as i felt my heart nearly combust 

it was clear to kirstin, mitch, scott, kevin and matt that they too weren't ready for that to come out of lavender's mouth even though kirstin had heard this before most likely. 

"lavvy, baby! you just said your first word!" i was trying everything in my body to not freak out or scream as i ran over and scooped up my little girl into my arms as she giggled into my chest as she wriggled to get over to her uncle scottie 

this was when we got another shock from little baby lavender, she called out for uncle scottie as she managed to start reaching over and slipping out of my grip, "uncle scottie!" her whine became louder and more obvious of me not being the one she wanted to be held by as i just simply handed her over to scott 

scott was beyond shocked at this point. all of us were, kevin, matt and mitch in pure silence with looks of amazement and puzzle on their faces as scott bopped lavender up and down and made silly noises with her as we watched on. 

"how...when did this happen, kirst? this is insane, the doctor said she wouldn't start talking for another couple of months!" i was in such shock i could barely concentrate and kirstin just laughed at my shock 

"honestly, i have no idea. i was on my phone watching some videos and, i think lav just heard you and uncle scott's voices and recognised them. she then started to respond to them which is when i screamed bloody murder," kirstin giggled as i giggled too - how was lavender able to recognise her mum and uncles voices so well? i can barely recognise my own voice when i'm speaking and singing - i have a talented baby that's for sure 

"wow. that...that's absolutely amazing. well done lavender, you are such a smart, talented little baby!" scott then giggled as lavender, who was living for her uncle scottie cuddles giggled as well as me and kirstin's heart started to swell with happiness - shocking me still that not even a year ago, i gave birth to lavender 

"that's crazy kirstin. i need to know how she recognised scott and i's voice so easily! i don't remember recognising anyone's voices that easily as a baby *giggles*," i laughed which made everyone else laugh as well as they seemed to agree with me 

"literally insane but, she's a smart girl! soon she'll be saying sentences!" mitch spoke up with a smile and a shocked head shake 

after this fiassco, scott handed lavender back to me as lavender and i watched the band perform from the side wings of the stage. it was slowly coming to the end of the concert when, for just a moment, literally a second i had placed lavender on the ground and turned around to apologise to one of the tour managers because i thought i stepped on their foot and when i turned back, i could no longer find lavender. of course, i panicked but, it wasn't until i noticed the volume of the crowd had very much so stopped their screaming when i looked to the stage to see that somehow, lavender had waddled her way to the stage and was now being cradeled in uncle scott's arms. taking a quick look at the setlist, i realised that the last three songs left were on my way home, light in the hallway and run to you and i felt as though it wouldn't be too much of a problem for lavender to be on stage since the crowds were pretty good at staying silent during these last three songs when asked to by the band. i couldn't stop the smile i smiled as i watched my daughter interact with her aunty and uncles the way she was. she may only be a couple months from one but, she was a truly gifted and intelligent baby that i knew before long, she'd be holding a microphone in her hand and singing up on that stage with aunty kirstin and uncles kevin, mitch, scott and matt. 

by the time the concert finished, lavender was fast asleep in scott's arms and i couldn't be as prouder of both lavender and the band, "is the baby sleepy?" i smiled as scott nodded his head as scott carefuly transferred lavender into my arms as i kissed the top of her head with a little smile

"very, she had so much fun on stage with her aunty and uncles that she didn't want the show to finish but, literally, as soon as run to you ended, she could no longer fight the sleep and she knocked herself out," scott giggled softly, making sure that lavender wouldn't wake up as he also ran his fingers through her hair 

"well, she's lucky because we're gonna go straight hom and going to sleep!" i chuckled and i never felt happier that i did right now 

i truly had everything i wanted. i had my sister, her bandmates who were my best friends and i had my daughter. i didn't need her deadbeat dad because he's a deadbeat and isn't involved. even though lavender doesn't have a dad right now, she still has four uncles that love her with every inch of themselves and an aunty who also loves her with every inch of herself. lavender didn't need a dad right now and that was okay, when she's older she'll get one.

rewriting this was so much fun and yes, i decided to change the baby's name from sienna to lavender, don't @ me!
