as kaeya and y/n enjoyed their time on the statue of barbatos, the god himself was snoozing away on the bench.
an hour later, still sleeping.
even after y/n and kaeya quietly tiptoed away from the statue, he was still sleeping.
when the weather got chillier, he just hugged himself tight and continued sleeping away.
hours passed by. the sun began creeping up slowly. but the bard kept on sleeping. soon he gained consciousness, but his eyes were still shut. venti felt a horrible hangover coming so he wanted to sleep more. as he tried to go back to sleep he noticed how his bed felt hard. it was also noisy. there were people whispering all around.
to top it off, his nose felt itchy. very itchy.
"achoo!" venti shot up, letting out a sneeze from the depths of hell.
only then did he realize, achoo, where he was. venti sat up on the bench next to his statue and looked around. there were some people, achoo, pointing and whispering at him, some looked concerned, others were used to it.
then he heard the culprit behind his sneezing. achoo! actually, they were culprits. right next to him was aether and diona. aether looked like he was juggling the cats he was holding, since they kept moving around. diona didn't help aether carry the cats, she was mad at him. she grumbled insults and walked ahead of aether.
aether's eyes widened as he saw venti sneezing. "sorry venti!" he said and started walking away faster.
venti wanted to complain but his constant sneezing stopped him from speaking.
cat fur had gotten stuck on his clothes, so he kept on sneezing the entire day. it wasn't until nightfall that he saw the piece of fur. his allergies caused him to not perform that day, so he didn't get any money, so he couldn't drink the night away.
maybe if he begs, diluc will give him some wine. better yet why doesn't he just steal it?

diluc caught him immediately and proceeded to kick venti out.
it was truly a horrible day for the bard.
