Seven- Caroline's Choice
"You brought back, John Gilbert?" Damon asks Stefan while pouring himself a glass of bourbon and looking at him with an 'are you kidding me' expression. "That was your big save- Elena move?"
Melina sat on the couch drinking the glass of bourbon Damon gave her. She watched the interaction less intimately then she had before now that she's aware of Damon's plans.
"I went to go look for Isobel, and I found John instead." Stefan explained.
Melina furrowed her eyebrows, a confused look dawning on her face, trying to recall who Isobel was. "Elena's mother?"
"Yup," Damon nodded. "Psycho who left her husband to become a vampire. A little desperate if you ask me."
"Which you are." Melina finishes the remaining of her drink, playing with the glass before standing up and pouring herself another.
"Anyways, John said he could help us, and we're desperate."
"You." Melina corrects a millisecond before Damon starts speaking.
"We're not that desperate, Stefan." He exasperates.
"Sure you are." Melina chuckles but stops when she sees the look on Damon's face.
"The guy tried to barbeque me." Damon finished what he was saying.
"Damon, Bonnie's new friend is working with Elijah, so we have to assume that the moonstone was never destroyed."
He wasn't the only one working with Elijah.
Damon looked and walked away pretending to be annoyed while Melina kept an impassive face. She had to admire how good Damon was at the act he was keeping.
Stefan speaks, "Elena is putting all of her faith into some deal that she made with Elijah to keep everyone safe. I mean do you trust Elijah?"
Yes.
"I don't trust him. He's an original, he can't be trusted. It's not like we can just go up and kill him because apparently he can't die." Stefan finishes his rant.
Melina had to restrain herself from rolling her eyes and cursing out Stefan which she would have done if she didn't know how important this was. Right now, Stefan was getting on her last nerves and she was about two inches short from grabbing a wooden stake.
"Still waiting for the part where John Gilbert is the answer." Damon has his right hand prickling at his chin.
"He knew about the sacrifice." Stefan answers. "Isobel told him. He said he knew of a way to keep Elena safe."
