━━━ WHEN LEADING A TEAM, you look out for everyone, never leaving a man—or woman behind.

Steve tried. He tried to be the best possible leader he could. But he let the team down. He left the avengers down.

     He let Nat down.

She was always kind to him—a bit cold, yet still undeniably kind. He knew her past was troubling, yet the two hit it off anyway. Both having troubling backgrounds, they somewhat understood each other, even though their pasts were completely different.

He watched as his friends acted miserably as they grieved over the loss of their fellow Avenger. Thor didn't want to accept the fact that she was actually dead. Bruce was angry at the fact he never got to say what he needed to say. Clint was lamenting over the fact that it should have been him instead. And Tony was trying to accept the fact that she was gone.

But Steve just felt as if he let the world lose a good soldier.

Unlike the others who expressed the loss of Natasha in different ways of speech, Steve stayed silent. He just cried, the tears of depression slowly streaming down his cheek.

"It was supposed to be me." said Clint. "She sacrificed her life for that goddamn stone. She bet her life on it."

In a burst of anger, Bruce grabbed a bench and hurled into across the lake into the far distance. He turned back to his friends with a sorrow look on his face. "She's not coming back. We have to make it worth it. We have to." he said.

     "We will," Steve answered simply.

He mourned over the lost of a soldier—a dear friend. And he was going to fight till the end in the name of her.

     All for her.

It was her sacrifice, and she did it for the better of the world. But she was gone, and masked behind the strong muscle and confidence was a broken man who felt as if he failed his team.

I tried to add Romanogers, but didn't because it isn't canon, but I still snuck it in there... it's fine.
