It was a chilly night in Hawkins, Indiana. Everyone was in the lonely Starcourt mall, waiting for explanations to be revealed on what was happening, to help everyone understand the situation.

"The mind flayer," Mike started, "It built this monster in Hawkins, to stop El, to kill her, to pay our way into our world."

"And it almost did," Max added, the others nodded in agreement, "El was just hurt by a piece of it."

"So how big is this thing?" Hopper questioned, holding El in his arms.

"It's big, thirty feet at least," Mike informed him.

"Yeah, it sorta destroyed your cabin," Lucas looked at Hopper, "Sorry."

"Okay so just to be clear," Steve announced, holding Y/N and Max stood next to them,"This, big fleshy-spider thing that hurt El is like some gigantic weapon?"

"Yes," Nancy replied.

"And instead of screws, metal, the mind flayer made its weapon with melted people?"

"Yes, exactly," Nancy repeated.

"Yeah okay I'm just making sure."

"Are we sure this thing is still out there alive?" Joyce joined in.

"El beat the shit out of it, but yeah it's still alive," Max responded.

"But if we close the gate again-"

"We cut the brain off from the body," Y/N acknowledged.

"And kill it," Lucas finished, nodding directly at her, "Theoretically."

Everyone took a breath and stood in the silence until that same man, who appeared to be a certain someone called, Murray Baulman came from afar waving papers above him, "Yoowhoo! Yoowhoo!"

Meanwhile, they all surrounded Murray who held a map of the Russian base, "So this is what Alexei called the hub. Now the hub takes us to the vault room."

Hopper observed the papers, "Okay so where's the gate?"

"Right here," Murray pointed to a box, "I don't know the scale on this, but I think it's fairly close to the vault room maybe fifty feet or so."

"More like five hundred," Erica chimed in the conversation, catching them off guard, "What? You're going to waltz in there like it's commie Disneyland or something?"

"I'm sorry who are you?"

"Erica Sinclair, who are you?"

"Murray...Baulman."

"Listen Mr. Bumman I'm not trying to tell you how to do things, but I've been down in that shithole for 24 hours and with all due to respect, do what this man tells you, you're all going to die," Erica snapped back.

"I'm sorry but why is this five year old speaking to me?" Murray questioned.

"Um. I'm ten you bald bastard!" She fumed, offending him.

"Erica!" Lucas exclaimed.

"What? It's just the facts."

"She's right," Dustin added, "You're all going to die, but you don't have to. Excuse me, may I?"

Murray looked at Dustin who was pointing to the map, "Please."

Dustin sat and looked at it, "Okay see this room here?" He circled a box in there, "This is a storage facility, there's a hatch in here that feeds in the underground ventilation system, that will lead you to the base of the weapon. It's a bit of a maze down there, but between me and Erica, we can show you the way."
