O8 | Farewell

Soft sobs from Jisoo, and loud wails from Lia echoed throughout the living room of Dara's mansion.

The day of her going back to South Korea finally came, and here she was, facing the hardest part of leaving ㅡ bidding farewell to her love ones.

The driver already picked up her luggage and brought them towards the car, ready to go. The only thing he's waiting was Dara, whom having a hard time saying goodbye to the two girls she treasures the most, specially to her daughter.

"Mommy, why do you have to leave? Don't you love me anymore?", little Lia asked as she bit her lower lip, crying her heart out.

She's clutching on the hem of her mini dress, sobbing non stop. Her personal doctor was beside her, calming her down.

Jisoo on the other hand was just standing near them, silently sobbing.

She knew Dara needs to leave, and thus she can't stop her. However, Lia doesn't understand it as she was too young to process such complicated thing.

She'd been crying since yesterday, when Dara finally got the confidence to tell her she's leaving. The sacrifice that Dara would do for the company and for her grandfather was too complicated for Lia's innocent mind to understand.

No matter how much Dara wanted to tell her everything so that she could understand her, she knew the little girl wouldn't be able to process the ideas. Lia might be a smart kid, but she's still young.

Dara kneels down, and leveled her eyes with the girl. Pain comes across her eyes seeing her daughter crying because of her. If only she had any other choice, she wouldn't leave. But she's already stuck with the situation, and there's no other choice left.

She tried wiping her tears, and Lia's tiny hands immediately hold Dara's.

"Mommy, don't leave me. I promise not to ask you to buy me another doll. I won't complain about you being busy and barely have time with me. I would behave now mommy, just please, don't leave me"

A tear escaped from her eyes, until it flows continuously. Seeing her daughter begging for her not leave broke her heart. It was true then, that a mother's number one weakness is their child.

She wanted to bring the little girl with her, but she couldn't, for now. The company needs all of her focus, and she couldn't entrust Lia with just a maid especially with the kid's condition. Atleast, if she leaves Lia here, she'd be with Jisoo, whom have Dara's full trust.

And Lia's personal doctor ever since was here too. Not to add that Jisoo's a future doctor too, and thus, she has knowledge on how she would handle Lia.

It would also be very difficult for Lia to adjust herself in Korea. Dara can't risk her daughter, she's keeping her like a fragile glass, she's handling her with so much care, and she's protecting her like her life depends on her.

"Baby stop crying, it's bad for your heart", she said softly.

Lia cried even more. "Is that the reason mommy? You're leaving me because I'm sick?"

"Lia no, ofcourse not", she pulled the little girl towards her. "Baby, that's not it. Didn't I said it to you already? Grandpa is sick, and he needs me to take care of him"
