Rolling over to the side annoyed, she brought the duvet up closer to her chin but being weary to keep it away from her neck as she tried desperately to get to sleep. It was around two in the morning and so far sleep wasn't even venturing close enough to her to allow her a moment of rest.

Feeling a hand on her back, she opened her eyes with a defeated sigh. "Maybe you should be going to a doctor," Derek pointed out and her brows furrowed as she glanced back at him.

"Go to a doctor for feeling sick? Tell me your rich without actually telling me your rich," she teased before looking away from him and he, from his position lying beside her not being able to sleep since he feared something was very wrong, rolled his eyes. "It'll be fine in the morning," she assured.

"It's been the past few days," he countered, "you do smell different."

Narrowing her eyes she rolled over to face him again, "you know that's a very weird thing to say to someone," thinking about it for a moment she grabbed onto the pillow and flipped it over to get the cold side to try and make things more comfortable, "I'll ring Melissa tomorrow and see if she can help," she assured and Derek nodded.

He didn't know what to do; he'd never dealt with an ill human before. Not like this and he couldn't help worry it was going to be something that he couldn't help.

"You know, Ethan emailed saying that he was thinking about coming to visit soon-" Derek's words were nothing but a blur to Margo otherwise she probably would have been much more excited than she was showing to be. The pair were eating their dinner at the table and she was thinking about the news she'd found earlier today.

Staring down at the object in her hands, she couldn't tell you what she was feeling. There was so much joy and yet there was also so much anxiety. It was a concoction of the best and worst of feelings and it wasn't helping the nausea anymore. She had been on the phone with Melissa and the things she'd suggested had made a lot of sense.

She was also right.

Derek had been out all day, which had been conveniently a perfect time for the situation she was in now. How on earth was she supposed to tell him, no one had ever prepared her for that. She had no one to ask, she couldn't ask Melissa because she'd already phoned her today and she didn't want to bother her.

"I think he was mentioning something about July-"

"I'm pregnant."

She expected a wordless silence but instead, Derek began to choke on the food he was eating and a new panic settled in her mind as she turned to help him. Grabbing onto the glass of water she quickly passed it to him and he took it gratefully trying to prevent the shock caused hazard.

Clearing his throat a couple of times, he turned to look at her with his face still contorted in confusion and bewilderment whilst she was staring at him with wide eyes and nerves wracking her entire body. "What?" He asked, worried that he'd heard her wrong.

"I-er-I was on the phone with Melissa this morning and she started asking questions and so I went and got a few tests probably way more than needed but I needed to make sure and then well they all came back positive," she rambled, speaking so fast he forgot she ever could be fast. She was and always had been one of those who enjoyed taking their time.

"So you're really..." he couldn't say it, and she began to panic as she nodded, "do you want to keep it?"

Pressing her lips together, she gave a single nod, "I do," she admitted her voice quiet.

He stared at her momentarily before he nodded himself, "All alright then," a smile broke out on his face, "we're going to have a baby," he added on and seeing that he was happy she relaxed entirely and she broke out in a smile herself. She felt stupid for even being worried, but that hadn't stopped the nerves that had been conjured. "We're definitely going to have to move house though. This one isn't baby safe...I mean the corners and then the stairs and then-"

"I'm sure it will be fine," she cut in before he could end up scrutinising the house until there was nothing good about it.

Reaching out, he picked up her hand with a smile just as radiant as her own and she gently squeezed his hand back. "We're gonna be parents, this is going to be new..."

"Well," she began, "we're basically the boy's parents they wouldn't have lasted long without us," she teased and he chuckled at the reminder.

"I love you," he assured, and she nodded with her remaining smile.

"I know you do, and I love you as well. Always."

"Always."
