summary:

VIENNA SCHMITT had loved HOCKEY her entire life but when she was cut from the Hawks, a miracle happened and the state redrew the boundary lines. She was welcomed onto the DISTRICT 5 team and although they weren't any good, Vienna would trade them over the Hawks any day. They became her best friends for the next two years after that. Vienna was an outcast in her neighborhood, school—in all of EDINA but with her hockey team she felt at home. ADAM BANKS was maybe the best hockey player in all of MINNESOTA high school hockey and Vienna had the "privilege" to have him as her neighbor. It didn't make sense to her when he didn't show up at the District 5 practices and continued to play for the Hawks but Vienna didn't want to question him. She didn't want him on her team anyway, she hated Adam Banks and he HATED her. Him and his friends were always bothersome to her at school and especially at hockey games. Even in HIGH SCHOOL, they hadn't seemed to grow up but Vienna could care less now. Not until the two are forced to spend a lot more time together when Adam's contribution to the HAWKS becomes a legal issue and he joins District 5 for THREE TOO MANY YEARS longer than they would have wished or maybe they would end up being grateful for it in the end...nah that's insane...right?

• For the purpose on my story, I have bumped up the ages of the Ducks so they will be in their junior year of high school at the start and D3 will go through their first year of college. This may get confusing so just keep it in mind.

• I know you have to play Juniors before playing hockey in college but let's just say because of the scholarships they got, they were able to skip it.

• This story starts in 1992 like the movies, however, there will be many, many anachronisms.
