"Today we are joined by the Chelsea star Ella Beckham from her holiday to talk to us about the future of Chelsea next season," Jamie Carragher introduced the young girl who he and Ashley Cole would be interviewing virtually
"Hello!" Ella waved into her camera since she wasn't in the UK right now so she was doing the interview online from Spain
"So first up after the terrific end to last season, how have you been? How's the break going?" Jamie asked
"I'm doing so well, Trent and I are on holiday right now and we've both just been so happy and it's great to get away from it all and have a break," Ella smiled
"But this has been a strange summer for Chelsea with the transfer ban and the change of manager, how do you think this is going to affect next season?" Ashley asked
"Um I think the transfer ban means you'll be seeing a lot more academy kids playing for the first team which is amazing," Ella answered "And Frank knows the academy kids because while he was at Chelsea he used to come to our trainings and work with us so for us now to be older and still seeing him is crazy,"
"Who is us? Which other players did he teach at training?" He asked
"Me, Mason, Tammy, Beth, Millie, Callum, Declan, Ruben, Billy, Reece," Ella listed off "I'm sure there are more but I just can't remember right now,"
"Well I'm sure Frank having that close bond with you guys will come through at Chelsea," Jamie said and Ella nodded "Just to talk about you as a player, you had a great season last season, what are you expecting for this season for yourself?"
"I'm expecting even more goals and assists because I'm training everyday and getting better and better," Ella grinned "I know I'm good and I know what I need to improve so next season I want to work on fixing those, but I also want to score more goals,"
"Do you think you can win the Premier League golden boot one day?" Ashley asked
"I know I can but it's just a matter of timing," She grinned "And I mean I've got my dad and godfather backing me all the way and they're both some of the greatest players ever so them being confident in me makes me more confident."
"With the Champions League coming up are you nervous to play in it?"
"Not at all," Ella said "I'm excited to play against the best players in the world, because to be the best you've got to beat the best."
"I'm sure all the Chelsea fans will be very glad to hear that confidence," Jamie said "And last season you of course played alongside Hazard and the two of you were fantastic, do you think you'll find that connection to another player?"
"Well I know Tammy is staying and Tammy and I have been playing alongside each other since we were 6 so we already have that connection. He's literally my brother and I'm really excited for that friendship we have to move back onto the pitch too," She smiled
"Like you said, you and Tammy Abraham are staying at Chelsea but so is Mason Mount, so at some point this season a game will come when it's you three against Declan Rice and the four of you grew up playing together and you're still so close. Do you think that's going to be weird?" Ashley asked
"It always is," She nodded "But the four of us are finally going to be nearby again, I mean Tammy and I are moving in together, Mase will live with his girlfriend and Declan's nearby, but we're all about 15 minute drives from each other,"
"I'm very excited to see how that close knit friendship you all have carries onto the pitch," Jamie nodded "Back to the end of last season you won the Europa League trophy and your boyfriend won the Champions League trophy and since then you both have been called the most talented young players in England. How does that make you feel?"
"That's crazy," Ella laughed "I mean when we won, we didn't think about fame or anything, it just meant so much to us and that was a feeling I'll never forget and neither will he. I just am so excited to see what this season brings because I think we do push each other to be even better and it shows,"
"Completely," Ashely nodded "And are you on holiday with Trent right now?"
"Yeah I can see him out by the pool kicking a football around," Ella chuckled "Since we don't get to spend a lot of time together, holidays are just such a nice time for us to get away and do our own thing for a bit,"
"I'm sure," Ashely smiled
"Well it's been an absolute pleasure talking to you, Ella and I can't wait to see what you bring to the Premier League next season." Jamie said "Enjoy your holiday and I'm sure we'll be seeing lots of highlights of you scoring soon enough,"
