Trent woke up on that morning and when he rolled over to check the time and the date flashed on his phone, his heart sank and he closed his eyes for a moment.

When he started dating Ella he knew one day he would have to play against her but it felt like it had come a lot sooner than he expected. He had to get to Anfield so he dragged himself out of bed and had a shower before eating some breakfast and heading to the stadium

His wish to just think alone was already ruined by seeing Ox, Hendo, Andy, James and Sophia chatting outside and he knew he wouldn't be able to avoid them

"Hey Trent," Ox grinned at the young player "You alright?"

"Yeah," he shrugged, a false smile playing on his face "You?"

"Same," Ox nodded

Trent tried to brush past them but was stopped by Sophie asking him to stay and he realised he had no excuse to leave so he stayed

"You guys think we'll win today?" Andy asked the group

"Of course we will it's Chelsea," James grinned

"Don't say it yet," Trent said, normally he would've been laughing and agreeing with James but today was different

"You don't think we will?" Hendo asked, he had noticed something was different with Trent but couldn't work out what

"Just saying," Trent shrugged "No point getting excited and then we don't win,"

"But we will," Sophia said

"You never know,"

"I do, 'cause you're playing," She flirted. When Trent first came into the first team Sophia became a good friend even though she wasn't from England but over time she seemed to have mistaken their friendship as a future relationship

"I might not," he shrugged

"You will," she smiled. Trent resisted the urge to roll his eyes and before he had to reply luckily Jurgen arrived and told them all to head inside

They got to eat before having a team meeting which took a long time and then they all walked out onto the pitch

Trent took out his phone and headed over to the bench since no one was around there so he could text Ella in peace. He managed to for a while until she said she had to leave so he went to talk to Hendo

"You okay?" His captain asked

"Yeah," he shrugged

"Trent what's wrong?" Hendo asked "You've been different today,"

"I haven't,"

"You have," He argued "You can talk to me about it, whatever it is," Trent paused for a moment, Hendo was his captain and he trusted him more than the rest of the team. There wasn't anyone else he could talk to and get real advice from

"There's a girl," he admitted

"A girlfriend?"

"Yeah but it's complicated," Hendo waited for him to continue "She plays for Chelsea,"

"Oh shit," Hendo sighed "I really can't imagine how you're feeling right now, and I know it's going to be a hard match for both of you but you can't let it change the way you play. Getting into the first team is a massive privilege and you deserve to be here, if you start letting Chelsea win 'cause of her then you'd let down the team,"

Trent nodded and then the Chelsea players arrived on the pitch. He scanned the team until his eyes landed on Ella, she spotted him and sent him a smile which he returned before her and her mates began to walk around the pitch
