Timeline: After Lexi had healed from her injuries and was cleared for physical activity
***************************
Lexi~
Lexi's healing process was slow and steady, but she was making progress. Her physical wounds had healed leaving only scars and that she was learning to come to terms with emotionally as well. Her therapy sessions were going well and her physical therapy and self defense training was keeping her body in top shape, allowing it to heal to its full potential. Slowly but surely Lexi was starting to feel like herself again - a stronger version of the woman she once was.
Declan had helped her every step of the way and it was obvious that he was also slowly healing from the trauma of nearly losing her. The problem was, her near death experience had only heightened and flared Declan's protective nature. Sure that was an aspect of Declan that Lexi loved and adored, but he was starting to let that part of him take over in the bedroom and it was becoming abundantly clear to Lexi that he was holding back.
Unpacking groceries in the kitchen and lost in her own thoughts, Lexi moved around the kitchen effortlessly until she had to put some things away in the high shelves of the cabinets.
Climbing onto the granite counter, Lexi hoisted her small body up so she could reach the top shelves, pausing briefly when she heard the beeping of the alarm at the front door.
It's 5:30 which means that's Dec. He used the code, you heard it beep yourself.
Lexi reassured herself that there wasn't an intruder, but scooted her body toward the butcher block that held the kitchen knives as she eyed the door.
Declan's large frame came into view, causing Lexi to let out a sigh of relief as he dropped his bag and keys.
"Jeez Lex, you should have waited. I can put those up for you." Declan said, rushing over to where she was standing on the counter and placing one of his massive hands on her torso to steady her.
"I got it, Dec." She chuckled, continuing her motion with Declan's strong hands wrapped around her waist. He stood there, staring up at her, keeping his hands around her in case she lost her balance.
I love the way you love me Declan. Always protective, even in the little things.
Once she was finished he lifted her off the counter effortlessly as he righted her on her feet before dropping his mouth onto hers. She gave into his kiss momentarily before pulling away to finish putting up the food, but Declan must not have liked that. He smiled against her mouth and tightened his hold on the back of her neck, holding her in place which caused her to melt into his deliciously deep kiss.
Forgetting about the groceries completely, Lexi felt her muscles go lax as Declan took her mouth, pressing her body against his and wrapping her arms lightly around his neck.
"I missed you today." Declan said against her lips.
"Mmmm I can tell." Lexi giggled, feeling his hard length pressing against her from beneath his jeans.
She trailed her hand down his chest until she reached his belt and slowly started pulling at the metal buckle.
"Show me how much you missed me." She purred against his neck.
Every muscle in Declan's body seemed to tense at her words and his chest started to inflate with heavy, husky breaths.
"Oh I'll make love to you all night baby, you just say the word." Declan said, in a low flirty voice meant just for her.
