Lexi ~

Lexi was sweating and frustrated as finished her physical therapy exercises in the gym at Knight Security.

Her hand was refusing to cooperate, trembling and shaking with every movement which made gripping the bands or free weights nearly impossible.

Huffing out a loud irritated breath Lexi balled and flexed her fist trying to mentally command her hand to stop trembling, but knowing it was no use.

Gripping the small weight once more, Lexi tightened her hold on it but was shaking too much to maintain her grip, dropping it almost instantly.

"Dammit." She muttered angrily under her breath.

A large body entered her peripheral vision and seemed to claim a spot near the wall as a spectator.

Lexi didn't give it a second thought, assuming Declan had come down to watch her progress or lack there of in this case.

Great that's all I need is to fail in front of an audience. Come on Lexi this is embarrassing.

Grabbing her own wrist, Lexi held it still trying to stretch the muscles and ligaments as they shook uncontrollably before reaching for the weight again, refusing to fail.

She strained and fought against her own small body, doing battle with her own muscles as she struggled to get the weight up.

"You got it Lex," an encouraging voice echoed from behind her - an encouraging voice that didn't belong to Declan.

The sudden surprise made her lose her concentration, causing her to drop the weight completely as she whipped her head around.

Logan.

He was tall and lean, standing with his hands shoved deep in his pockets. His broad shoulders were caved as if he was ashamed of himself and overall he looked completely defeated and sad.  The sight tore a hole in Lexi's heart and she completely forgot about her physical therapy frustrations.

"Oh my god, Logan." She said with a pained smile, rushing toward him and wrapping her arms around his torso.

His body tensed at first as if he was surprised she was willing to hug him which was strange, but Lexi ignored it and hugged him anyway.

Logan clutched her tight and squeezed her, letting his head drop down onto her small shoulder. He was hurting and it was obvious.

"Is everything okay?" Lexi asked frantically, pulling away to get a better look at him.

"Lexi...I..." his words got caught in his throat as his voice cracked, causing Lexi to reach up and cup the sides of his face.

"Logan what's wrong? Talk to me." She pleaded, feeling her hand trembling against Logan's cheek.

"Ah God Lex. I'm so sorry." He finally said, reaching up and grasping her shaking hand.

What? Sorry about what? What's going on?

Lexis confusion was written all over her face as she tried to understand why Logan was so emotional and what he was apologizing for.

"Come sit." She encouraged him, taking a seat on a bench next to her.
