|| Darkness ||

14 2 1

In a world of darkness and cruelty
I attempt to climb my way out
Towards the light shining above me
Away from this cavern of doubt

My hand slips and I tumble back
And I feel the darkness rush
The tears slip and fall down my cheeks
My face darkened by harsh blush

This darkness consumes me forever
There does not seem to be a way free
But the light continues glimmering up
As if to echo my plea

So once more, I reach out my hand
I climb and climb
Although I continue to fail now
Victory shall be claimed with time
