Shimmering and shiny, like scatterings of snow

But their edges are scathing and unforgiving

They glitter and deceive in the light

Reflecting the splatter of crimson

My hand throbs from the impact

The snow doesn't melt like it should

The warmth dribbles down my hand

And dims the glimmer just a bit

It deserved it; I had to do it.

It wasn't fair that it can reflect and not feel

It wasn't fair that it can so easily shatter

While I was forced to stay in one piece

It was shatter or be shattered.

I had to.
