Me and Alex have been dating for about 5 months just after him and Alexa split up we were visiting Sheffield Alex asked me to meet his parents at first I was excited but now I'm a nervous wreck
Alex decided to meet in a cafe just down the road from his childhood home
"Yeh alright luv" Alex asked as we started to approach the cafe
"Yeah I'm just nervous" I said looking at the floor
"Ey they going teh luv yeh I kno' tha' for a fact" Alex said giving my hand a squeeze for comfort
We got inside the cafe to see mr and mrs Turner "Ello mum Ello dad" Alex greeted the couple Alex definitely looked like his mother but also look so much like his father he gave his mum a hug and a kiss on the cheek and his dad a hug "hello darling" mrs Turner beamed "Ello son" mr Turner greeted his son
"Oh you must be Y/n" mrs Turner said giving me a hug as we pulled away mr Turner went to give me a hug "it's lovely to meet you" he said
"It's lovely to meet you to mr and mrs Turner" I said sitting down next to Alex
"Oh please just call us penny and David" penny said I smiled
Once we ordered food and drinks me and Alex's parents got on quite well so far Alex couldn't help but smile at what he's witnessing
"So y/n what do you do for a living " David asked "I'm a music producer " I said taking a sip of my coffee
"So I take it you two met in a studio" penny assumed
"Yeah weh met in the studio but weh were mates beforehand and well it grow from there" Alex told his parents they nodded with smiles
"So Y/n tell us about yourself " penny asked the question this time she's so sweet and understanding I can see where Alex gets it from "well I'm 23 I'm from Birmingham I have 2 siblings and when I was 17 I left school to become a music producer" I explained in the shortest I didn't really like explaining my life so I always kept it short and sweet
Penny nodded understandingly
"Alex have you met Y/n's parents yet" David asked "erm no but I fink wehr going to see her mum and stepdad in two weeks and go teh see her dad after tha'" Alex explained penny and David looked at me as if to ask what happened
I smiled and took another sip of my coffee
"My mum and dad were never together my mum had me at a very young age and my dad didn't really want to be with my mum but wanted to be a part of my life and my mum met my stepdad Brian and had my siblings Harry and lizzy" I explained
After we finished we said our goodbyes and me and Alex went to his flat
"So wha' did yeh fink" Alex asked as we sat on the couch
"I don't know why I was nervous" I said laughing
"I love your parents they're so sweet and funny I really hope they like me" I said Alex pulled out his phone to call his mum to let her know we got home ok
"Hiya mum tha's mEh and y/n home" Alex said smiling
I couldn't help but start to feel nervous as Alex face went serious he replied with huhs and rights I knew it they hate me they want Alex to dump me
"Y/n?" Alex snapped me out of my thoughts
"MEh mum wants teh talk teh yeh" Alex said handing me the phone
"Hi penny" I said
"Hello Y/N dear it was lovely seeing you today I wanted to tell you me and David love you and there's nothing to worry about" penny said i sighed in relief
"Thank you penny honestly that means so much" I said smiling
"Why don't you came over for dinner tomorrow you and al" she said it made my heart swell that I was being accepted in the past my ex's parents never liked me because of my past or just never gave me a chance
"Yeah I'd love to" I replied
"Amazing do you like carbonara" she asked i remember Alex said she makes the best carbonara ever
"Yes it's my favourite" I said
"Great I'll see you tomorrow sweetheart" she said
"See you tomorrow penny" I replied before hanging up and handing Alex his phone back
"MEh mum gave mEh a bawling at saying if I annoy you I'll have her teh deal wif" Alex said Chuckling
"She told me that I have nothing to worry about that her and your dad loves me and she invited us for dinner tomorrow" I said
"See I told yeh they'll luv yeh she told me on the phone that your already her favourite" he said with a smirk
"I think I love your mum more that you" I teased
"Is tha' so" he asked I played along nodding
"Well then that sucks cause your not going anywhere" he mumbled kissing my lips
"I love you Alex" i sighed
"I luv yeh more" he replied
"Not even possible" I grinned
