"Granny" my 5 year old granddaughter and 8 year old grandson beamed as I opened my front door
"Hello my dears come in grandpa is in the music room" I said to my grandchildren
"Thanks mum for watching them tonight me and Beth need the break" my daughter Nat said chuckling her wife standing next to her
"No problem love me and your dad are more that happy to" I waved off
"Tell dad I said hi and I love him" Nat said making her way out the yard
"No problem" I shouted
I closed the door and made my way to the home studio to see my husband Alex with his two grandchildren sitting on his lap while he was showing them the music he used to make back in the day when he was young and wild
"How many albums did you bring out grandad" our grandson Robbie asked
"Nine six wif the Arctic Monkeys two wif the last shadow puppets and one of meh own I did for a movie called submarine" Alex replied (let's just pretend tbhc was the last one)
"What one is your favourite papa" Millie asked
Alex thought about it for a minute
"Yeh kno' I don't have a favourite I luv them all" Alex said with a chuckle
"Deh yeh have a favourite milleh" Alex asked smiling at his granddaughter
She nodded excitedly our grandchildren always loved listening to Alex's music

"Oh realleh tell papa" he said
"The dancefloor one and the go get em tiger one" she said she didn't really know what the titles of the songs were but it was cute seeing her trying to name them
"Oh I bet tha' yeh look good on the dancefloor and miracle Aligner" Alex said chuckling
"What about you Robbie" I asked my grandson
"Probably snap out of it and standing next to me nana" Robbie said
"What about yeh nana" Alex asked with his usual smirk
"Oh I don't know papa there's so many to choose from" I said giggling
"Deh wanna know Wha' yer mummehs favourite was when sheh were little" Alex asked our grandkids nodded eagerly
"Here's were hiding tonight I used to yeh sing it teh her every night" Alex explained to the kids
"Can you sing it to me tonight papa" Millie asked
"Of course" Alex said smiling
A few hours later we all had dinner and now sitting on the settee
"Nana" Robbie said "yes dear" I replied
"What did you and grandad look like before you were married" he asked
Me and Alex chuckled
"Should weh get the photo album out luv" Alex asked
"I think we should" I said standing up making my way to mine and Alex's room into the wardrobe where the box full of memories were
I came back with the photo album in hand sitting on the settee Alex sitting by my side with Millie on his lap Robbie sitting on my other side
I flicked the book to the first page
"Oh my lord alex look that was when we first met" I said looking at the photo
It was me and Alex at a pub laughing at something while Matt took the photo we were both pissed
"How old were you then" Robbie asked
"I was 25 and papa was 28" I explained
"How old are you now nana" millie asked
"Well I'm 53 and papa is 56" I said
We flicked through more until Millie stopped us on a photo
"Who's that" she asked
"Oh that's uncle nick" Alex said
It was a photo of me Alex and nick at a Christmas party Alex had nick in a headlock for the photo with I was laughing my arse of
Then we got to a specific photo mine and Alex wedding photos from us getting ready to the end of the night
"The best night of mEh life" Alex said smiling looking back at the memory
"You look beautiful nana" Robbie and Millie said in union
"Oh thank you dears" I smiled
We got to the photo where we both said I do and we kissed it was a very sweet picture
"Eww" Robbie said
"Wha'" Alex asked chuckling
"It was weird seeing our mums kiss but it's weirder seeing our nana and grandad kiss" Robbie explained
"Well one daeh yer gunna kiss somebodeh" Alex said
We showed them more pictures of when we found out I was pregnant to the baby shower and when their mum was born when she was growing up to a teenager to when we met Beth and when our grandchildren where born
"And thats all" I said closing the book
"Wow there's a lot" Millie said yawning rubbing her eyes
"Right pyjamas and bed you two" I said the kids hurried of to their room and got ready for bed
"I enjoyed tha' luv trip down memory lane" Alex said
"Me too I can't believe how long we known each other" I said
"I can't believe weh have grandchildren" he chuckled as we entered their room so Alex can sing the song he promised Millie and Robbie
"Yeh ready" he asked Millie stoking her hair as he sat beside her I stood by the doorframe watching in awe
"Tomorrow, I'll be quicker
