A Few Hours Ago...
Cole drove the Destiny's Bounty towards Shintaro. Following the map, he made it through the mountains that hid the Ivory City. And he somehow didn't run into any Dire Bats. As soon as he drove the Bounty into the kingdom, he was awed at the sight of it again, even though he visited this kingdom many times before.
He parked the Bounty and landed right in front of the castle. Once he got close to the palace, he was greeted by Hailmar, "Greetings, Master of Earth." He bowed, "It is an honor to see you again."
Cole shook his head with a smile, "It's good to see you too, Hailmar. And please, just call me 'Cole'. I'm not really into formalities."
Hailmar smiled at him. He nodded and led him inside, "Right this way, Cole." They walked for a bit and they reached the Throne Room. Hailmar held his hand up, signaling Cole to wait. He walked into the room and said, "Queen Vania, he is here."
Cole could hear Vania's voice from the other side of the door, "Send him in." Hailmar nodded and opened the other half of the door, revealing Cole. Cole walked inside and Hailmar closed the door to give the couple their privacy.
"Queen Vania." He playfully bowed.
Vania also bowed playfully, "Future King Cole." They both stopped bowing and ran towards each other. They met in the middle in each other's embrace, "I missed you." She sighed.
Cole chuckled, "I missed you too." They broke apart from the hug, "How has Shintaro been treating you as queen?" He asked.
Vania shrugged, "It's been fine... But better now that you're here." She quickly added, making Cole laugh.
He stopped laughing and asked, "So, what did you plan for today? I know you always make a plan for every time I visit." He smiled.
She smiled and replied, "I did plan something for today." They walked towards her throne, "You visit not so often because of your ninja duties and because of my royal duties, so our dates have to be special. We have to spend as much time together as possible when you visit since we don't see each other very often."
Cole nodded in agreement as they reached her throne. They both sat down next to each other, "I get what you mean. But you don't have to plan anything. Just spending time with you makes my day worthwhile. Everything we do together is already special to me, Vany." He got closer to her, "You already know that, don't you?"
Vania looked down, "Yes, but... Unlike your friends, we don't see each other often... We live in different cities and..." She sighed, "I don't know. What if something happens between us that makes us can't see each other? I want to spend the whole day with you when you visit. And I make plans because I want us to do something special together, Cole." She hugged him.
He hugged her back, "Everything we do is already special. You don't have to plan anything. We'll find something to do together, and if there are any problems, we can face them together. Okay?"
She sighed happily, "Okay." They broke the hug and Vania took off her crown. She placed it on the stand next to her, "But for now, I wanted us to go for a fly. You know, get some air. What do you think?" She let her hair loose from its bun and braid.
Cole nodded, "Sure. But I'm not a sky folk. I can't fly."
"Neither can we. We use wings, remember?" She reminded him.
"Oh, yeah. I forgot about that." He rubbed his neck in embarrassment.
Vania giggled at him, "Come on. Let's go!" She got off the throne and grabbed 2 wings from the stand.
