Ch. 3 Good Witch Azura Book Club

Amity stared down at her Abomination 101 book, not paying attention to what the teacher was saying. She already knew this subject, it's no big deal to her.

She just couldn't stop thinking about earlier, those bruises on her father's wrists. Where did they come from? Did someone or something do that to him? Who or what hurt him?

The bell screamed, everybody packs up their things heads out to there next class. She heads to her locker but stops when she sees Willow.

"Willow!" Amity calls out.

Amity walks over to her and is surprised to see Willow so giggly and blushing.

"What's got you all so giddy?" Amity asked smirking.

"Hehe. Well I um...may or may not have a...secret admirer." Willow said blushing harder.

"Wow, A secret admirer? Did they leave you something?"

"He or she left me this golden flower that I've always wanted. They're very rare you know with it rumored to have healing properties. Oh! And they also left me note."

Before Amity could reply she felt a tap on her shoulder, She turned to find Edric and Emira.

"Hello, little sister, Hello Willow." Edirc greeted pleasantly.

"What do you both want?" She looked at them with suspicion.

"Whatever do you mean Mittens?" Emira asked in a sweet voice.

"Come on guys. Whatever you want just tell us, we really gotta get to class." Willow said getting a little annoyed. Having been friends with Amity when she was little, the twins were always playing pranks on them on more than one occasion.

Edric pulled out a pink bunny lunch sack which made Amity blush.

"You forgot your lunch." Edric waved the lunch bag in front of her face.

Amity took it, shoving it into her bag. She grabbed Willow's hand and started walking toward their next class but Emira stepped in front them.

"Also this little thing fell out of your backpack on your way out the door." Emira pulled out the little purple book out her bag. Amity's eyes widen, snatching it and shoving it in between her books.

"Thanks." Amity whispered.

"Your welcome, baby sis." Emira smirked.

Amity quickly dragged Willow away to their history class. Once they made to their seats Amity looked through the pages to find any spell, illusion, sneezing powder, bugs or anything that could wriggle around. She sighed in relieve and clutched it close to her chest.

"Hey you okay?" Willow asked with concern.

"Yeah, I'm okay...*sigh* I know this is stupid but...It's just, this means so much to me and I can't help but worry that they messed with it."

"Hey, if they did mess with it than I'll have to teach them a lesson." She drew a circle and a small vine appeared.

"Hehe. Thanks Willow."

The last bell of the day screamed, everybody was heading out of their class and either going home or hanging out with others. Amity was putting her things in her locker when a note fell out. She picked it up and smiled when she saw one of Luz's light glyph symbol on it.

To Amity.

Meet me at the owl house after school. I know this is short notice and I'm not the best at planning but this is the second Good Witch Azura book club meeting! Come ASAP.

She smiles holding the note to her chest. Her cheeks turn a dark pink thinking about Luz. She had been sick for a couple days thanks to accidentally switching a potion with apple blood.

She put her headphones on, walked down the steps and away from the school towards the woods. She was jamming to this sing called 'Little Miss Perfect'. Luz said that the song was pretty popular in the human realm and Amity has to admit it was pretty catchy.

After about 20 minutes of walking through the woods, Amity was approaching the Owl House. Hooty tried to make conversation but she punched him in the face, quickly entered the house and shut the door before he could talk to her again.

"Hey kid!"

Amity turned around and found Eda sitting on the couch drinking tea. She awkwardly waved and smiled.

"Hello Miss Owl Lady. Sorry about slamming the door I just don't think I could stand that bird tube talking to me. "

Eda shrugged her shoulders. "Eh it's okay. Hooty can be...Difficult. Anyway Luz and King are upstairs sleeping. She's been excited to see you all day."

Amity smiled before heading upstairs. She stopped at Luz's door before gently knocking.

"Come in!" Luz yelled.

Amity entered the room and found Luz reading through Good Witch Azura book with King sleeping next to her feet.

"Amity! I'm so glad you came!" Luz beamed with joy.

"And miss out on our secret book club meeting? In your dreams."

"Well come on in! I got some hex mix, apple blood and Good Witch Azura book number 6!"

"Wow. You were really excited to see me huh?"

Amity sat down next to Luz who leaned in and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek. Amity blushes slightly at the kiss, still getting used to the affection she's receiving from Luz.

2 Hours Later

"Before The King could stop Azura, she sprinted to where Hecate sat, kneeling on the floor with her hand tied behind her back. Azura fell down in front of her and, caught her face in her gloved hands. She pressed her lips to Hecate's. Azura knew her fate was sealed and so she poured her feelings, her very being, into that final, desperate, passionate kiss." Luz narrated the final paragraph of chapter 10 and smiled.

"That was so moving wasn't it Amity? I mean Azura knew that if she didn't give herself up than everybody she cared about would die and yet within her final moments before the king takes her as his bride she finally kissed Hecate." She turned to look at Amity and her relaxed smile turned into an expression of worry.

"You okay, Amity?"

Amity was staring down at her book, looking right at the illustration of Azura saying good bye to Hecate in the dungeons. She had noticed how Hecate was beaten severely and she had bruises on her wrists from struggling against the chains.

It made Amity remember her father and the bruises she saw on him this morning. She knows he's been a shitty father for years but lately he's been trying to make an effort to be a better person and father.

Luz put a hand on Amity's shoulder which jolted her out of her thoughts. "You okay? You kinda just, zoned out?"

"Huh? Oh! I'm okay. I-I just think it's beautiful what Azura did." Amity said hesitantly.

"What's wrong mi amor?" Luz scooted closer putting her arm around Amity. She blushes as Luz pulls her closer until her head is lying on her shoulder.

"I....I hate seeing you sick. I feel helpless."

Luz turned her head to look at Amity. "Aw, you've done enough already. You came to see me for the book club and that means a lot to me!"

Amity smiled and cuddled closer.

"King demands cuddles and finishing the book!" King scooted in between the girls snuggling up in between them, Amity drew a spell circle a pink flame. Luz shook her head and silently scolded her.

Both girls finished reading the book and laid down flipping through channels on the crystal ball until they found something. Amity handed King some hex mix to snack on while watching the program. Luz held Amity close and they snuggled into the pillows feeling safe and sound.
