“That’s the point Yul”

Yena admitted while looking right at Yuri who she caught having a subtle surprised look in her face,

Her pupils enlarged as she had her mouth frozen open, stopping herself before she could say something that may or may not hurt the both of them if she doesn’t watch her words,

Yuri saw the presence of despair in Yena’s eyes as she tried her best on hiding it with her usual smile as it reached her ears as if what she just said didn’t expose anything about her or why she’s like this,

Yena just accepted what Yuri said and she’s not sure whether it’s supposed to make her happy or make her heart hurt more because of the painful truth Yena just spilled.

“I know, that’s why I hate you unnie….you always act like a main character and here I am, just a shadow in your story supporting every role you take, I mean are we even sure that I’ll reach the end with you?”

Yuri fumed after seeing Yena’s smile that angered her more on how composed she is right now when the only reason she’s acting like this is the person smiling in front of her itself,

She’s worried about Yena and how she thinks she’s everyone’s burden even though all she’s did ever since she got conscious of her well-being is to make sure that the people around her were happy and fulfilled with their life,

Yena has never thought about herself to the extent that affects her mental health and stability,

Yuri could just see it through her especially now that’s she’s getting to know her more,

How Yena has a heart that could be popped with one prick yet her body was as free as a bird cage with multiple weak spots scattered around it,

She just wants to mend her knowing that if she does, Yena will have a chance of living her remaining days believing in something else than doing other things for other people’s sake.

“Of course you will, I could never be a person if I didn’t have a shadow”

Yena mumbled that broke the silence that took over the two of them once Yuri expressed her anger and frustration earlier,

She was just looking out for Yena not knowing she was fully blocking her way of talking so she could explain her side more.

A simple analogy that enlightened Yuri on Yena’s perspective and on how she sees things in her way,

A human being is full of flaws inside and out, physical attributes, mental and emotional states,

Whatever it is, nobody could really be perfect yet that’s still not everything.

People also have their own environments and the things around them that they grow up with and that’s one of the things Yuri doesn't think often about until now,

Yena was right, she is living under the sun and there’s no such thing as a person having no shadow under the blazing heat,

A shadow could be the only thing you have once you’ve fulfilled your work on other’s people’s lives, and it makes so much sense on how Yuri is Yena’s shadow.

“And even if you are indeed my shadow, then I’ll treasure you forever knowing that you’re always going to be behind me”

Yena looked at Yuri as she sneakily slid her hands next to her, her index finger reaching for Yuri’s as she wanted to hold her hand hoping it could lessen her worries for her as after all,

Sometimes it really is just yourself fighting with the universe so you could have what you want and what you’re aiming for and as to this moment,
