true beauty ships (RANT)

I'm pretty neutral and uncommitted to the entire series's outcome. I'm only engaging for enjoyment, I'm not developing ardent viewpoints. I ship neither Suho x Jugyeong nor Seojun x Jugyeong, although I do have likes and dislikes for both.

I just started reading the webtoon and am on ep. 80. (Dunno why I started, guess I just did- piqued). (Up until now the only webtoon I've read is sAvE mE, while the two of my closest friends who bestowed the BTS fandom on me have been engrossed on the site for years). I'm no where near finished, and I'm also not watching the kdrama, but this is my current and not fully developed opinion (on the ships, not the actual dating).

I liked how Suho x Jugyeong met from the beginning and bonded over comics- a sort of resort for their turbulent lives. (He literally linked Jugyeong's two endearing versions by personality instead of appearance- which would've been impossible). I also like how Suho's jerkiness (which we know comes from a sad history) seemed to melt in front of this girl to be replaced by friendliness.

Except that happened to Seojun too, who proved himself to actually be rather protective and kind. Except he didn't exist from the beginning. It was rather funny how he was abruptly started appearing everywhere though (Aiden, Gowoon, Mcdonalds, school...). He was definitely less discrete with his feelings, but also considerate and low-key. I saw neither as creeper pursuers; I only saw Jugyeong as oblivious.

I think Jugyeong and Seojun have quite a lot in common though (not saying that Suho doesn't relate to BarbieJoo, because he does). They both have dreams in life (makeup and singing), but face many barriers (such as financial issues, school, modeling requests). They're also not at the top of their class (I'm not calling them the bottom either).

Suho and Jugyeong going out together bothered me because Suho was evidently some talented and unblemished student while Jugyeong wasn't. (I know that winded them up in *futile* study sessions though). I totally acknowledge that the webtoon is mainly oriented around "true beauty" (so both appearance but also the deeper personality), but my personal standards (that I don't meet and have no idea to spit) on academics and extracurricular crap (no matter how irrelevant and irrational) can't help but butt into my perspective.

I'm not saying that Jugyeong isn't talented (because makeup became her second nature after a schoolbreak of practice) (not everyone can acquire something- regardless of the practice intensity). But that talent rather correlates to Seojun's in singing than Suho's in school-life (other than his past with the two other S's and the comic comfort, we don't know much else).

(IDK how I feel about Suho being rich, Seojun becoming a rising star, or the love triangles connected to the main 3; no comment on that...)

I was rather shocked that Suho left Jugyeong -after only just embracing her- for a father that indirectly caused him to lose Seyeon though. That father dragged his mother's legacy in the mud by moving on too, so it's almost like his beLoVeD mother's death caused him to lose his father (so the father got lost hAhA idk how to word it- )

In the end though, I still ship neither. I actually root for Suho x Seojun bromance. (I heard that their tension in the kdrama was much more intense than what the webtoon conveyed). Their past friendship with Seyeon was adorable too (RIP). It's appalling how hard and fast both fell for the same girl LOL... (Talk about having something in common...)

^^I guess I don't ship Jugyeong with anyone then. I'm definitely not going to glance at Sua because they were friends who found their path almost free of rocks. (I'm not like that LOL). I saw someone ship Sujin x Jugyeong in the kdrama because of their reconciliation, but I haven't gotten there yet (and I can't see how that forges a sHiP). (I did hear that Sujin was way more dramatic in the *more* dynamic kdrama). Still, Suho x Seojun is better than any Jugyeong ship--

(Although I don't have any particular preference for any ship, I definitely like all of them. Theres not one I don't like, so I get excited whenever I see any pair enjoying time together because the idea of any good memories being created sound alluring- although they might sour over time. (I can sense those breakups- I taste the imminence on my tongue).)

Yep- Thos were my views. 101. My word hunt qween fwend ships Jugyeong x Suho though...

To be fair though: oPpOsiTeS aTTRaCT (2 people don't need to have something in common to love one another and enemies don't always need to be completely different from one another. Likewise, people having something in common shouldn't automatically pair them together as well. So I have no idea what I was doing, mainly the whole league thing because I'm weird.)

I'm pretty sure that Jugyeong x Suho end up together in both the webtoon & drama (although I'm not near finishing the webtoon, which isn't even completed itself-). Although I haven't watched the drama, that hasn't stopped me from looking on YT for a few vids and googling. So it seems that happens^^ (correct me if I'm wrong).

Evidently, "Team Suho" and "Team Seojun" is very divided. So I think that the drama should've allowed Jugyeong x Seojun to end up together to appease viewers (so that both teams could get sOmETHiNG fair). It would've made sense too because it *seemed* that Jugyeong dated Suho first in the drama (before Seojun and then going back to Suho). In the webtoon, the two didn't have the chance to get together after the airport confession. That way, there would've only been 2 (i think- iDK) transitions. Indeed, Jugyeong seemed much more upset at Suho's departure and ghosting (then return) in the drama than the webtoon (I saw LOL).

But in the end, I'm fine because I insist I have no biases (I just get offended on others' behalf sometimes, yknow). At least Jugyeong reciprocated Seojun's feelings at sOmE point. I don't think Suho eVeR liked Sujin, so big OOOOOOOOOOF...
