capricorn: the knees

Unnerved at the world.
A contradiction sucking out the marrow of some other's meal.

Spurred by the promise of another shape, another name or plan.
Too much to ignore,
like a circling bird of prey.
Not eagle, but rather condor, a vision of death as you plan out
the future on your veins.
The blood finds its path
in the same way orbiting planets do,
calm unlike the iced comet/the asteroid.
Or the way mountains rise from plates of earth and draw us down
in our flesh/insignificance:
a dot in an ocean on a hill near a river under a tree in the bitter eye of a hurricane in the middle of a field of lavender.

This is the dirt, the old matter says, and you dip your hands in rain-clogged soil to measure the weight of life before yours.

Capricorn rules the knees — those working, essential joints. This sign leads with motion, afraid to be still for too long. In their bad moments, their restlessness turns vicious and they can take out certain frustrations on others.
