'Hi I am Marcellus'

'I already know your name.' I said indifferently

'How do you know it though?' Marcellus looked genuinely surprised.

Airhead

'Elijah, sorry Teacher called out your name just a second ago'

'Really? I did not hear it. How about I show you around the school at the break time?'

'Fine' I said in an uninterested tone.

The class was over. I did not have any problem following even though I had not attended school for half a year. I had perfect photographic memory and loved studying. While others thought that studies were a curse as they could not enjoy with their friends. For me it was like solace. Though I was always alone but not never lonely when in company of books. I had a special relationship with books however I did not like reading novels. A special hatred was born for novels which was more like a phobia.

'So let us start the tour' Marcellus said excitedly.

'let's go.' I was accompanied by Marcellus and our tour started.

The six-floor building had an auditorium on the ground floor with first year classes. First floor and second floor had third years and second years classes respectively. There was another building for basketball and swimming facilities. Third floor only had our third-year class and a large terrace overlooking an old large cherry blossom tree where boys liked to spent their break. It was not its time of blossoming otherwise the whole terrace would have been filled with its pink petals. Fourth floor had the dorms for only twenty elite children who came from oversees. Fifth floor housed the staffs, both teachers and servants of the students. It also contained the principal's office who usually was absent all-round the year

'This is the band room' Marcellus said excitedly. He was quite popular; we were stopped many times on our way for other boys to greet him. Thankfully they completely ignored me rather than acknowledging my presence or passing any kind of snarky comment.

The band room was near the auditorium. It was a lavish room with expensive instruments. Flutes and piano, golden trumpets and stunning guitars. It had so many instruments that I did not even know the name of

'Do you know how to play any instrument Aziel?' Marcellus asked swiftly moving in the sea of shining instruments as if looking for something

'No'

'I know how to play Chinese flute. Winna hear it?'

Aah... so he was looking for the instrument?

'No' I hated music more than I hated novels.

Looking at my disgusted face at his proposition. Marcellus let out a small chuckle

'Fine. Fine'

He somehow looked dejected.

'This is library area; however, we cannot go after this line.'

We had reached the sixth floor of the building. It was not used for anything. The paint was scratched and mold grew in some places. There was no light over there and library was inaccessible. The large corridor without light looked like a dark path towards the unknown. A faint scent of death was lingering that was very familiar to me. The dampness, the rotten smell all was so nostalgic that It gave me chills. I was curious and terrified at the same time. The mixed feelings were unable to discern from one another.

'Why? It does not look that bad. We can at least go and take some books from there?'

'It is under construction' Marcellus said nonchalantly.

Liar

There were no construction materials there.
