We come across a large open field. I start dancing to some music in my head. Joel laughs at me.
Joel- What are you doing?
Me- Dancing. What are YOU doing?
Joel- Watching you make a fool of yourself:)
Me- Come on join me!
Joel- To what music?
Me- The song in your head duh!
Then Minnow joins in and so does Boy. Joel just watches and laughs to himself. We find a tree trunk and Minnow draws a red target.
Minnow- Ok Joel. Now aim at the red target and shoot.
Joel- I-I don't know...
Me- Come on Joel. It's easy. Just think "Needle through water"
Joel- Have you ever shot a crossbow?
Me- No I'm more of a dagger kinda girl.
Joel- You try.
He hands me the crossbow. I take it. I do just like Minnow said. Aim and shoot. Needle through water. I aim then I click the trigger and boom center target.
Me- Woo!
Minnow and I double high five.
Minnow- Yeah! That's what I'm talking about:)
Me- See Joel...easy:)
Joel-...ugh fine.
He takes the bow and does just what I did. But he misses.
Me- Remember Joel "Needle through water". Repeat that a few times in your head before shooting. Ok?
Joel nods. I give him a smile because he looks a bit down about missing the target. I walk over next to Joel.
Me- Come on, I'll help you:)
I lift the crossbow that's still in his hands. I move it over a bit to the right.
Me- Relax this arm a bit more. Don't be too stiff...ok?
Joel nods. He looks down at me. I look up at him and realize how close I was to him. Oops. I take a few steps back. Joel's eyes follow me.
Me- Ok...try and aim.
Joel looks forward and closes one eye.
Me- Needle through water. Needle through water. Needle through water.
He clicks the trigger and...he gets it on the trunk of the tree. He looks at me with a happy, proud smile. I smile.
Me- That was better! Try again:)
Joel aims again.
Me- Needle through water...remember that.
He nods and...clicks the trigger.
Me- You're getting closer:)
Joel looks over at me.
Joel- What do I win if I get it on the center this next time?
Me- Uh....I don't know....a hot meal AND some sleep?
Joel- Lets do this:)
He's getting a bit cocky. I laugh. He gets into position. He aims. And shoots. He gets it on the target! He looks so happy with himself. He runs the few steps over to me wraps his arms around me and twirls me around. He puts me down. I laugh.
