Chapter 21: Shiraori

A While Later

Rimuru's Pov

White and her companions had been traveling for months since she first was reborn as a goddess, the journey was pretty hard for a few reasons. First, White's body was extremely weak, it seemed like she inherited the physical appearance of strength of Wakaba Hiiro, so she was much weaker than a normal human and seemed to be about to die constantly. I felt bad for her because she couldn't use her powers since she was no longer part of the system but didn't understand how to fully cast spells without its assistance.

Currently they am nearing the mountain range that separates the northmost human territory from the Demon territory, it is apparently very dangerous because the ice dragons passively release extremely cold winds to keep outsiders out. While they were traveling another reincarnation caught my eye, his name on earth was Sasajime Kyouya, I never talked to him in my one day at school but according to D he was an average boy that would be considered a nice guy. He unfortunately was the only reincarnation that seemed to rival White for who had the worse life. He was born as a goblin and lived a nice life with his new family at the base of the mountains, his village was attacked by human soldiers though and all of them except his brother and him were killed, he was kidnapped because he had his reincarnation skill Weapon Creation and when he woke up he has acquired some terrible titles, while he wasn't aware we has made to kill and eat his own little sister. Wow that human is a monster, I know better then anyone that creatures many consider monsters are often more human then many humans. Our goblin then was used as a slave to make weapons for the humans who captured him, while his brother was also a slave. The ability he had made it so that the more mana he used to create sword the stronger they were, so the humans forced him to evolve to increase his mana, then his sword creation skill eventually evolved allowing him to make magic sword from nothing but his own mana. This is the kind of ability that would be considered extremely OP, and the humans took advantage of it. One day our reincarnation found out that his brother was being forced to go massacre other goblin villages and was so far gone that he was enjoying it and laughing with the people that enslaved them. Then he went on a rampage after unlocking the wrath sin series skill, it is kind of like Milim's ultimate skill [Wrathful King Satan] which turns anger into raw power. With this he killed all the humans and his brother in the camp, he them proceeded to evolve into an ogre, but not the kind from my world, he was massive and ugly like you would see in a video game. From then on he went around killing any humans he found while being consumed by rage, the skill also stopped conscious thought so he was pretty much just a killing machine.

After White and co. got near the mountains they had to stay in the town they were at while the imperial army went to subjugate him. Luckily, our ogre managed to barley escape and run into the mountains, where our group was going. Obviously, I can see where this is going the ogre, who now evolved again into an oni who looked much more like Benimaru or Souei.

During their trip,Sophia and White got separated from Ariel in an avalanche and had to wait in an igloo for her to come to pick them up. It was well below freezing and at this point the clothes I gave White were the only reason she wasn't frozen to death right now, I guess they just have bad luck. Too bad it was about to get worse, while they were waiting Sophia sent up a signal flare with magic so Ariel could find them but instead attracted the now bloodthirsty oni. He then attacked the igloo and would have cut White in half if the scythe Ciel gave her didn't summon to her when it sensed danger. The thing is, now Sophia is the only one that could fight the oni since White was now weaker then human, and the battle was not even close. Sophia didn't have her sword on her because it was in the wagon they were traveling in so she had to just try to fight bare handed, so she was destroyed almost immediately and sent over the edge of a fissure that was created by the fight. In a last second moment White used some of her power after not being able to for months and pulled Sophia back up. But they were both still dead, I looked around to see if Ariel would come in at the last second and save them or something but no, she was talking with the most powerful dragon in the mountains about letting up on the freezing wind. If this happened Sophia and White would die to the oni, I made a quick decision and spoke to D and Ciel.
