~ Last Day of School ~
-Beginning of Summer Break-

Adrien's POV:

It's been a whole school year since the day I got promoted to be the superhero of Paris. Having this role meant growing a superior relationship with my designated kwami, Plagg. We have gotten way closer, which basically meant adapting to the stinky old cheese he loves so dearly, but he, too, has had to adapt to my obsession over Marinette. I wouldn't call it an obsession since they're genuine feelings I have for her; but others... like Nino and Plagg, would say otherwise.

My role as Chat Noir, also meant growing a trustworthy relationship with my partner in red, Ladybug. Our relationship as partners has grown as well, during patrol, of course. Although we don't share a lot about ourselves, we've gained a tremendous amount of trust for each other. We've defeated Hawkmoth's villains, repeatedly. But as we both say, Hawkmoth is no match for Ladybug and Chat Noir, we're the most iconic duo.

Today's the last day of school and my hopeless romantic self is sitting in class, nervous as hell because I've been planning on asking Marinette out. Disregarding my stammering, I would most likely ruin my chance of talking to Mari in a thorough way, as always. Plagg always reminds me of how hopeless I am when it comes to Marinette. He always manages to make a remarkable point, but I won't give up until Mari and I live in a house with three kids, a dog, a cat, and a hamster. I'd make sure that today would be the day that my life turns upside down.

Although today could be the worst day in history, I can name thousands of other things that have happened in such a short period of time. It's preposterous to think that many events took place between the first day of school and the last.

A few months ago, Alya, Mari's friend, asked me to hang out at the zoo. I assumed Marinette and Nino would accompany us, as a 'group' hangout; but I was wrong. When we arrived at the zoo, Nino decided to stay behind and guide me through a conversation with Marinette. To our surprise, she never showed up; it was just Alya and I.

-Flashback-

"Hey, Alya. Where's Marinette?" I asked, concerned at why Mari wasn't with her. It was midday at the Paris zoo, the sun shining down it's warm absorbing heat, as the two of us stood feet away from each other.

"O-Oh! Well she couldn't make it," she replied, stammering; almost in the exact way I do, when I'm near Marinette.

"Should we wait for her then?"

"We don't need me!" she began. "I mean...we don't need her!"

It was odd of Alya to be stumbling over her words when she spoke to me; what has gotten into her? "Yes we do, dumbass!" I heard Nino shout from the earbud placed in my ear. The high-pitched sound the ear piece made, vaguely caused me to jump.

"Yes we do, dumba—" I began, but stopped in realization of the rude forthcoming comment. "Dumb...I mean- oh, what a shame!" There was a long pause before any of us spoke. I figured Marinette didn't want to tag along because of me. Then, a feeling of courage hit me.

"So, did Marinette not come because of me?" I asked, hoping for an answer I would like.

"Uh...she wasn't feeling good, that's all!" she said, quickly.

"Right... So then what should we do?" I asked.

"Well, Adrien. I've been wanting to get this off my mind, and I think only you can help me," she began, not responding to my question.
