"I like you."

I stared at him wide-eyed as I sat facing him in a table for two in some intentionally-hidden café of sorts at the end of a dark alleyway. It amazes me how he easily finds places such as these.

"P', you're funny." I replied after composing myself.

I took a sip of coffee as I wonder how this person's brain work at times. Was he always this straightforward?

"Try handsome."

"And confident too." I added.

"Let's date." He tries again.

"I'm a bit busy these days, P'. I'll have to pass."

"But you still eat right?"

"Yeah, I do. What about it?"

"Date me. We won't do much. Just eat. Easy, right?" The glint in his eyes said otherwise. This person can say the most innocent of things and I'd still think twice or more like a hundred times about it. His glib tongue is not to be trusted.

"I don't cut in line even at supermarkets, P'. Neither will I do it now. People who're throwing themselves at you will probably form a long line. Just choose one among the queue."

Just get a clue already.

"You know you don't want me but can't say it directly."

Oh okay. So you knew?

"I won't say it that way, P'. You're an amazing person. I'm just not into relationships at the moment."

Of all people, why does it have to be you? Reject you directly? I'm not yet insane.

"You can't help it." P'Mork said.

Yeah, yeah, I really can't.

"But I only want you." He added.

How hard is your skull?

"So, I'll wait."

"I don't think that's a good idea, P'. It's not like I know when I'll finally want to be with someone, right?" I really want to knock some sense into that brain of his.

"That's fine. I can be patient if I want to."

But I don't want you to.

"I won't bother you too much but I hope you can give me a chance and join me for dinner once in a while."

At what point did I lose out in this conversation?

"Sure, P'."
