The said Scythe reaps souls, the more souls he reaps the more powers he gets, He could also call his scythe by just showing his hand, if he gets a specific amount of souls, he unlocks powers.

The sword functions differently, if the scythe needs souls, the sword harvest's sins and converts it to purity, the only sin it can't cleanse is the sin of betrayal (how convenient) The same with the scythe, the more sins, the more powers it unlocks.

The backstory of the brothers: Death is lonely, so is life, one day they crossed paths and both immediately fell in love with each other, they developed a healthy relationship (unlike some people) and made you and your brother, you being the eldest by 1 hour. You got your dad's powers while your other brother gets your mom's side and the rest of the story progressed from here.
P.S:Reading this back, I think I have broken alot of rules... But screw the rules this is a fanfic.
