They had found out you're in the hospital due to a serious accident and they're not allowed to leave the event.
They had spent the whole day looking for you amongst the crowd when they got the news off of a manager.
The news had sent them into a sudden thud of depression as they had no idea what hospital you were taken to. That and the fact that they still have hours upon hours left until they can leave the event.
And so, they had spent the next few hours cuddled up against one another, pretending the other person was you.
