"Who are you? How do you know my name?" You managed to squeak out.

The tall man chuckled, the sound nowhere close to being pleasant to you ears. "Oh, my dear [Y/N]. You told us your name." He took a step forward, then stopped. The man didn't seem to have any intention of coming closer, but you scooted away just to be safe.

"What are you talking about? I never told you my name." You've never even spoken to this man before, the first time you saw him was last night at the ball. You definitely didn't even come into contact with him, he was either completely delusional or had the wrong girl.

"Yes, you never told your name to us." A different voice spoke, this time the voice sounded similar to chiming bells- not in an unpleasant way, but in an unnervingly calming way. "But it is just as if you did, [Y/N]." The man that was conversing with the former, walked in through one of the windows, that also apparently served as door ways.

He had a kind smile on his face, with eyes like pools of honey. His skin that reminded you of the sunset was dotted with freckles, and his long auburn hair tied up in a mess- despite this, he still looked charming and smart. His round clear frames, pocket watch and cotton outfit gave him a scholarly impression, even if the giant heap of books in his arms were ignored. "Telling our sibling your name is no different from telling Kejir and I." He started, clearly ready to delve into a lecture. "You see, we're tethered together-"

"Brother." The imposing man, Kejir, hissed out

The scholarly elf gasped in horror, "I am deeply sorry, I didn't mean to say that!"

Kejir's eyebrows furrowed into a deep scowl, "What's done is done. Try to shut up now." He spoke through gritted teeth, glaring daggers at the other man.
You were glad he didn't stare at you that hard, you knew looks couldn't kill but with Kejir's sharp eyes, you weren't taking any chances.

"Your sibling? Who?" You asked, frightened. Your thoughts went back to the timid elf you met last night. "Do you mean Novae? Where are they?" It was difficult to link someone as harmless as them with the two men before you, but they were the only person you could think of.

Now that you thought of it, Novae did seem to relate to difficult family members. Maybe they really were related to Kejir and the scatter brained scholar.

"I'm sorry." Novae suddenly walked in through a different window-door from the one the scholar used. They were dressed in leather breeches, a bow hanging behind their frame. Their hair, which you thought was black, now seemed a deep shade of blue under the sunlight. "I didn't think they'd just take you-"

Kejir rolled his eyes, "Oh, enough with the pity party. You knew what was going to happen that night."

"Yes, Novae, I'm afraid I have to agree with Kejir this time." The third one mused, you just then noticed that he had dropped the heaps of books near the large bed and returned to his original spot.

How fast was he? He didn't even look like he broke a sweat.

You gulped, "What was going to happen," Hesitating a bit, you look down at your fingers. "On the night of the ball?"

Kejir guffawed, Novae shifted uncomfortably, and the scholar answered your question with a polite grin,"Why, that was the night we got engaged."

What.

"The night you-" They called each other brothers, so you assumed they were related. It seemed to be some kind of couple thing where they referred to one another as-

"We." Kejir's laugh came to an abrupt stop. "The night we got engaged, [Y/N]. You, the both of them and I."

This was preposterous! A week ago, your mother was preparing your engagement with lucas, last night at the ball, people were sure you would end up getting engaged to Ipsit, now you were suddenly engaged to a bunch of elves? Why was everyone around you obsessed with getting married? "We're all engaged?" You mumbled, still not quite believing it. "To one another?"
