"Isadora! Avez-vous vu mon livre? (Have you seen my book?) Duncan asked, shoving the drawer shut.

"Lequel? (Which one?)" Isadora asked, "Celui que tu lisais hier soir ? Ou celui que Y/N vous lisait? (The one you were reading last night? Or the one that Y/N was reading to you?)

"Le premier (The first one)" Duncan answered.

"I heard my name but I didn't get the rest of the sentence." You said as you walked into the room, handing my boyfriend his book.

"Merci mon amour! (Thank you, my love!)" Duncan said, pressing a kiss to your cheek as he took the book from your hands.

You giggled, "I'm sure that whatever you said was sweet but I need someone to translate please."

His sister gave a small smile, "He said: Thank you, my love."

"Wow!" You mused, "Let me guess - you two speak French?"

"Yeah." Duncan answered, "Don't you speak French?"

You chuckled, "Mum tried to teach us when we were younger but she gave up when Klaus and I were too invested in Jane Austen to listen."

"Duncan can teach you if you want." Isadora offered, "He is a great teacher and I speak from experience."

Her brother's cheeks turned pink, "Tu aimes juste quand tu m'embarrasses, n'est-ce pas ? (You just love to embarrass me, don't you?)"

You turned to Isadora, raising an eyebrow at her as she laughed, "What did he say?"

She smiled, "I love it when I embarrass him." She answered before heading out of the room.

"So," you said, sitting down, "can you teach me?"

He nodded, sitting down next to you, "So, what phrases do you want to learn?"

You thought about it for a moment, "How about: I'll go read."

"je vais aller lire."

"You're the best."

"Tu es le meilleur."

"Your eyes shine like the stars."

"Tes yeux brillent comme les étoiles."

"I love you."

"Je vous aime."

You grinned, placing a kiss on his cheek, "Je vous aime, Duncan."
