The Castles

Chapter 7

3 months later

"Rick, if you need anything, anything at all, just give me a call, okay?"

Kate said while pulling on her heels at the front door and getting ready to get going

"Hey, everything will be alright" Her husband trying to smooth her nervouses by his soft but at the same time deep male voice

Alyssa was now 6 months old and today was Kate's first day of going back to work after 6 months spending 24x7 with her baby girl

"I know... I don't know why I'm so worried, it's just..."

"It's just for a few hours, you're going to be away from her just for few hours, put a few bad guys behind the bars, do your share of paperwork, trust me, before you know it, you'll be home and the two of us will wait for mommy to get home safe, right, baby girl" While speaking Castle walked up to her, pecked her lips lightly a few time and thus assuring her everything will be okay

She looked at him, then at their baby girl who was content sucking on her little thumb while her head rested on her daddy's shoulder

She took her from Castle's arms and laid a soft kiss on her tender, chubby cheek, Kate's lips cherishing smooth, innocent skin of her baby, keeping her close to herself, Kate inhaled scent of her lenitive baby shampoo

Oh, she's gonna miss her baby so much, even if it will be just a couple hours of separation. She's her baby girl and Kate has a need of holding her all the times, listening to her still incomprehensible mumbling of word she's trying to speak. Because once she's grown up all of that will be gone.
Kate doesn't even want to think about that times now, she just wants to stay in this time where her daughter is still her little girl.

"Mama's going back to work today. But I'll be back before you know it, okay? You be good and don't trouble your big sister" She softly whispered, holding her lips close to her baby girl's ear and smelling her innnocent scent one more time before it's time to go

Her tiny fingers reached out for a lock of hair that was falling from Kate's neatly tied bun, little baby, so oblivious to fact that her mommy won't be here for few hours to come continued giggle to sweet words her mama was whispering to her

"However, I don't mind one bit if you pull up a few tricks while being under daddy's watch" She smiled at her baby girl and gave her husband a wink

"Haha. Very funny" He laughed with a hint of sarcasam, Alexis laughing along with him and baby Alyssa made a sound, trying to imitate what she just heard her daddy and big sister did.

"I never thought it's going to be this hard" She sighed, standing in front of her husband, still not able to separate for her baby girl

"Everything's gonna be okay, if there's no new cases today maybe you can call it a night earlier than you ussually do"

"Yea, I'll try to"

"Have a nice first day back at work, Kate" Alexis stepped foward, giving Kate a side hug and adding "Don't worry, I'll back up dad"

Redheaded then walked to the living room, leaving her dad and Kate to say their goodbyes to each other

Castle leaned, giving his wife a slow, passionate kiss which made her close her eyes while linking her hands around his neck and tip-toeing to her husband's height to fullly feel his lips

"Thank you" She whispered softly after they pulled away, still reasting her forehead against her husband's

"Don't worry a thing, babe, Alyssa and I are in safe hands" Castle was reffering on his eldest daughter always being an adult of family

"You just be safe and come home in the same way you left, without a single scratch on your body" A decent worry rising in his voice as he speaks these words and Kate finds it adorable how he is always protective over her

She chuckled before pulling her husband in yet another sweet kiss

He was nibbling on her lower lip, still not letting it go fully when a tiny hand crept on his ear, making an effort and trying to pull it

"She's your daughter, never gives daddy to catch a break and already having her ways to get attention she's seeking for" Castle joked, rubbing on his ear, which wasn't at all pulled that hard but he was trying to make a point

Castle indeed was no wrong, there is a lot similarity between Beckett and their daughter, apart from already characterly resembling of her mother, physically she is a copy of Kate...
Same big hazel-green eyes Castle drowns in, still soft and childly but same brown curls as Kate's and last but not least the dazziling smile she inherited from her mother that Castle is sure will be the death of him once she grows up because with precisely that smile Kate is driving him nuts and makes impossible for him to say no to anything she wish for and he has no doubt Kate will tell their daughter that's the easiest way to soften him

"Yeah, yeah, no need for jealousy, Lis, he's all yours now. I'm the one going" Beckett joked, cupping her daughter's palms one more time before she finally, but still hesitantly headed for door

"See you in the evening" She more of questioned that stated, running her hand throught coat in search of keys, but soon noticing them in wooden bowl by the door

"See you!" Just a moment later after her husband's confirmation, she turned the doorknob and disappeared toward the elevator

The door closed and Castle turned to his daughter who was still peacefully lying on his chest "Looks like it's just you, me and Alexis for few hours"

Alyssa mumbled something in response, as if aknowling exaclly what her father was saying to her

Castle gently kissed the top of her head, feeling her little curls tickling him and took her in living room where Alexis just started preparing breakfest for her sister, dad and herself
