Chapter 6

I was drawing up battle plans for our match against Saunders and Guderian walked in. He asked, "Also, wie sieht der Plan für unseren Kampf gegen den Amerikaner aus? I pointed at the map and said, "Wir teilen uns in zwei Hälften und die eine Hälfte geht zur rechten Flanke und die andere zur linken Flanke. Wir führen einen Blitzkrieg gegen die Amerikaner und schalten ihren Flaggentank aus, wodurch wir das Spiel in kurzer Zeit gewinnen. Sie werden es nie vermuten. Während des Spiels kommunizieren wir auf Deutsch, für den Fall, dass die Amerikaner versuchen, unsere Kommunikation abzuhören. (We'll split our selves in half and one half will go to the right flank and the other will go to the left flank. Guderian looked at the plan and said, "Klingt gut. Stellen Sie nur sicher, dass alle unsere Kommandanten es bekommen. (Sounds good. Just make sure that all of our commanders get it.)" I nodded.

I got up, and photocopied the ans and handed them out to all of Ooarai's commanders. I called Kinuyo and when she answered, I said, "Hey Kinuyo, it's Erwin. I wanted to see if you wanted to go on that date." She said, "Sure. I'm free. Where do you want to meet up?" I told her, "Meet me by the restaurant on board the ship." She said, "Okay."

I met up with Kinuyo at the restaurant and she asked, "So, what are we doing?" I told her, "Honestly, I was thinking to keep it simple and just get drinks and chat." She said, "Sounds perfect." We went inside and got seated. We ordered some drinks and struck up a conversation. I ordered a beer (German of course) and Kinuyo ordered a bottle of Sake.
