The birds were chirping loudly, you looked outside the window. You saw an unfamiliar man walking towards your house. You. couldn't do anything, you were locked in your room. " Mother! " voices were echoed through the room, it seems like no one heard you. " Who did mother invite? " questions swarming your head, you looked around the room. Wondering why did you deny mother's words...

 A droplet of water fell down your head from the ceiling, heads were high up seeing a hole in the roof... It started to rain, the room was very chilly, eyes were looking outside. The man was no longer there, did he entered the house? Those birds that were always stayed by at the tree, even when it was raining were gone. Where could they possibly went, you knew you had no right to force them to stay but you just wanted a friend. Sitting by the corner, you were starving and mother still hasn't given you a piece of bread. " Did mother forgot? " your stomach was rumbling, the hunger was very high. You may possibly die if this keeps up, you got up and walk by the door. Eavesdropping was bad but it was the only choice to know who that man was. There was no noise, no footsteps, no words. Could mother of gone outside but then who will greet the man? 

It was not your place to know about the man, all you could was waiting for her to come home and feed you bread. Engines were sound, your eyes were locked outside on a car. " Is that him? He looks oddly suspicious ". After a while, a ring of the bell was made throughout the house. Mother was home but you sat still at your bed. You can't open the door after all. Footsteps were heard loudly, the door was opened. You looked at her but her eyes don't seem to have any intention to feed you. You bowed down to your knees and politely asked " Ma'am, how was your trip outside? ". Your face was hit to the floor as she was stepping on you. " Why didn't you open the door? ". Those words made you terrified. You knew what was going to happen either way but you choose to keep silent. Mother was very furious, what could of happen to you if this kept on for years?
