"If it's such a problem, then why did you even have me train?" Y/n huffed, crossing her arms.

She looked over at Shadow, wincing. She had broken his arm. She bit her lip, feeling bad. He was covered in bruises as well. She only had a bruised bone.

Y/n had hit him hard enough to send him into the ground, breaking his bone and covering him in bruises. While she wasn't very strong, it was how fast she had hit him.

Her power activated. She had slowed time, for everything but her. As soon as she hit him, time resumed, and he hit the ground, knocking him out.

Y/n carried him back. Her rib was bruised, and running while carrying him hurt extremely bad.

"I know, Y/n, I'm sorry, I'm just... worried. Maybe this plan was a bad idea." Sonic said, sighing.

"I saw this coming. I knew it would happen, I just... chose to ignore it, I don't know why." Tails said, watching Shadow twitch as he stared at the ceiling. He hadn't said a word since waking up.

"You guys..." Shadow struggled to speak, his voice cracking. "You guys worry too much. I told her not to hold back, or I'd kill her. It's my fault..."

"Wh-What? You didn't say that, Y/n..." Tails said looking back at her in confusion. Y/n furrowed her brows, looking at Tails, before turning to look into Shadow's deep red eyes.

"I'm proud of you, Y/n, you used your power." Shadow said, giving her a small smile. Y/n stared at him in shock. He was proud of her..?

"Th-Thank you, Shadow." She said, smiling back at him. Shadow groaned as he sat up, Tails reaching out to stop him. Shadow sat still, looking up at Y/n, never daring to break the eye contact.

Shadow was her friend. Of course he would be proud of her. He really did care about her. Y/n felt a warmth spread throughout her body. She never had a friend to be proud of her until now.

"Tails." Sonic muttered, catching the kitsune's attention. Tails looked over at him, raising an eyebrow. Sonic turned his head, gesturing for the two of them to leave. Tails nodded, standing up.

"Call if you need anything." Tails muttered to Shadow, leaving.

As he walked away with Sonic, Tails couldn't help but look back, a twinge of pain in his chest seeing the look in Shadow's eyes as he stared up at Y/n.

Y/n sat down next to Shadow, watching as he slightly scooted closer. Y/n gave him a soft smile.

"How do you feel? It doesn't hurt, does it?" Y/n asked. Shadow shook his head slightly, placing his hand on his head. He ran his fingers through his quills, sighing.

"Not much." He said. He smiled at her lightly. "I'm still a little surprised you actually beat me."

"I am too. I guess I got too carried away..." Y/n said. She reached for Shadow's face, looking into his eyes. She wanted to search for any signs of him hurting, she felt so bad for hurting him. "I'm sorry for hurting you, Shadow..."

"It's fine, Y/n, don't worry. I heal fast, this will pass in no time." He said, rubbing the arm in the cast. Y/n squeezed her fingers into a ball, forcing a smile as her eyes moved down to the cast.

While she believed him, that he truly thought it was nothing, Y/n couldn't help but think that she was a problem to them. She had lost control, and hurt him. Who knows how much more she could do if she lost control again.

Shadow noticed how her smile had faltered as she got lost in her thoughts. He grabbed her balled up hand, squeezing it lightly. While he wasn’t very experienced in comforting people, he somewhat had an idea of what to do.
