Part 4: Welcome to Jurassic World

A cloud of dust spiralled around the helipad as our helicopter descended. I couldn't help but gasp at the natural scenery around us. The volcano eruption had completely destroyed some of the major parts of the island. However, the more quiet, remote locations further towards the west and south had been touched only by nature's growth. I had seen the entire view from the helicopter as we passed over the Jurassic World Lagoon and near the old park buildings.

I hauled my bags outside, taking Brooklynns with me as well, panting. Gosh I was more unfit than I thought. Thankfully, Franklin came over and assisted me in putting them into a couple jeeps parked nearby. I shared a ride with Franklin, Sammy & Brooklynn while Zia, Yaz, Kenji and Ben went in the other one. As we passed the old Visitor's centre I noticed a tall shadow cast over our jeep. I glanced up in awe as I tapped Franklin on the shoulder to stop our jeep. Zia parked next to us as we got out. Looming high above us was a brachiosaurus, its graceful neck in an arch attempting to eat leaves off one of the taller trees. I never thought I'd see another dinosaur again after we escaped but here we are. Life can really be so beautiful.

As we got back into the jeeps and drove away, I wondered where they would take us. We drove past the old visitor's center and after a couple minutes we came across a gleaming building. Franklin sighed dramatically and wiped his forehead, earning a chuckle from us. "Here, my friends, is where you will all be staying for the next 5 days. Jurassic World's only luxurious motel!" He annouced, pointing at the mulitstory building. I was surprised when he opened the lift, wondering if they had gotten power back to some areas of Isla Nublar. Things must've definitely changed if they allowed the helicopter to fly over the island.

Yasmina's P.O.V

I let out a contented sigh as I flopped onto the king size bed. Kenji laughed at me, going to the ensuite and checking out the bathroom. I followed him, looking around in wonder. The motel was most certainly very luxurious with polished taps, large showers, a bath tub and even a sauna. Each room was as massive and spacious as the lobby downstairs, which was huge by the way. I decided to organise our clothes into one of empty wardrobes lined against the wall. Looking at myself in the mirror, I felt a smile grow onto my face. I had changed so much since I was here last. Now, I was not afraid to ask for help and work with others, and I was proud of myself. Zia had told us to relax and freshen up before coming back downstairs around 3pm, which was an hour from now. I decided to take a warm shower but I got pushed aside. "ME FIRST!" my husband yelled in the most childish way possible as he ran past and shut the bathroom door. I laughed, thinking about how he'd never given up his 45-minute shower habit. And his hair, don't even get me started on it.

I walked over to our private balcony and admired the view. After so long, I felt happy with my life, especially since now I was reunited with my closest friends. Brooklynn and Darius were sharing the couple room next to us, while Sammy and Ben got their own single bed rooms. I felt arms wrap around my waist and I rested my head on Kenji's chest, a faint smile playing on my lips. I could feel the warmth coming from his body because of the hot shower he just had. I gently pushed him aside and went into the bathroom to relax. I closed my eyes as I felt the warm water cascading down onto my shoulders, breathing deeply and feeling a bit of my tiredness wash away. After I stepped out, Kenji was lying on the bed flicking through the TV channels. It surprised me a lot that they'd managed to get TVs here, but oh well. Entertainment is entertainment. I snuggled in beside him, my eyes heavy from the lack of sleep the night before. My last thought as I closed my eyes was how lucky I was to be here with my favourite people.

Hey! So with this chapter, keep in mind I had to write it making sure it matched with the events of Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom with the volcano explosions and less dinosaurs. I've attached an image of a map of Isla Nublar (2018 version) and I've followed that, in case the places I have written about don't make sense. I'm not sure if there really was a motel near the visitor's center but we'll just go along with it ahah
