Part 8: Here We Go Again...

A/N + SPOILERS! Heyy so before you go on to read this chapter, I want to make a few quick mentions. Season 5 obviously came out and I binge watched it all. Now I don't like how things went ahead. Sammy x Yaz are cute but definitely not my first couple choice, and it's the same with Brooklynn and Kenji. Therefore, in my story, keep in mind that SammyxYaz never happened in the show. Kenji and Brooklynn dated, but later broke up. As well as this, the ending of Season 5 (SPOILER) leads into Jurassic World Dominion, in which dinosaurs are everywhere and off Isla Nublar. Now that also doesn't work out with my story, so we'll pretend that didn't happen either. Everything else will stay the same, and if there's any other changes, I'll mention them. I'd also like to apologise for the significantly late updates, but hopefully yall are interested in reading the next part :)

Ben's POV

I thought I'd be staring into the face of death, my body fully prepared to sprint away from whatever danger we were facing. But the only thing that happened was my change in expression. I couldn't control my smile seeing Bumpy once again, standing in front of me with her herd of anklyosaurs again. She was still here, but I just hoped she remembered me. I began to walk closer but Darius kept a firm grip on my hand. "Ben, wait. Anklyosaurs don't roar like that. They're more like..." He attempted to imitate a dinosaur sound, to which everyone else began to laugh. I was hit with a sense of deja-vu as I remmebered us on the zipline, Darius once again trying to tell us what a brachiosaurus sounded like, right before the Indominus attacked. This memory turned my face sour, but Darius still hadn't let go of my arm.

I shook off his arm and slowly walked closer, hoping my reuinion with Bumpy would go as planned. I inwardly began to grin as she began to grunt and come closer to me as well. I put out my hand and closed my eyes, hoping things were still the same. I'd be torn apart if this bond was broken since she had been my first friend, the only thing about dinosaurs that I was fond of. I laughed out of pure joy as she touched her nose to my hand, opening my eyes and seeing her beauty close up. Her asymmetrical bumps were astounding as always. I felt a prescence behind me and realised everyone else had come to meet Bumpy again. As we were talking and genuinely having a good time, the familiar roar sounded again, behind the herd.

Yasmina's POV

No, no, no! Not again! I couldn't help but panic as the roar echoed again, defining it's proximity. Bumpy and the herd were clearly unsettled as well, grunting and vocalising. Bumpy lightly nudged Ben and began to walk away, into the other side of the jungle. I turned back to notice that Zia and Franklin were still attempting to open the fence, scared expressions plastered onto their faces. I realised that this fence was probably the only electrified one, just to keep the dinosaurs away from the hotel. But there's gotta be a way out of here, somehow. If the power's down, can't we climb the fence?? I was about to voice my thoughts when Brooklynn beat me to it. "Guys, the fence isn't working, which hopefully means that the power is out. We should be able to climb over it now." She explained, frantically moving her arms in a state of frustration and elbowing Darius in the process.

"We could try but I don't want to risk getting electrocuted" Darius stated, looking uneasy for the first time all day. Before anyone could say anything else though, a compy ran into the fence, getting a massive shock. I scrunched my eyes shut tightly as Sammy and Brooklynn screamed. "Well... I guess that's no longer an option," Kenji forced out a laugh, his bitterness evident. Zia walked up to us, looking dishevelled. "What do we do now?" She asked. In my mind I thought pfft, as if we know how to get out of this mess! 

"It's all YOUR fault!" Sammy yelled at her, making Zia jump back. "Why did you force us in here? Now we're stuck in the middle of a jungle with no way out, and there's dinosaurs everywhere, and we don't even have anything to help us or anyone to contact, and-" Sammy stopped to take a breath but before she could continue shouting, I put a hand on her shoulder and shook my head, indicating that it'll be better for all of us to calm down. Zia had her shoulders hunched over now, and her cheeks were red. "I didn't know this would happen, and I'm just as scared as you guys. But you must know what to do! You guys were stuck here, you've experienced dinosaurs." She tried to explain, but no one was willing to respond. None of us were prepared to be trapped on this island again. "Franklin, can you still contact your manager and arrange for a way out of here quickly?" Darius asked, hope in his voice.

Franklin began to fumble around with his phone, attempting to get into contact. "YES! I can connect. I'll ask him to work things out. I don't want to be here anymore." Franklin mumbled, clearly relieved that we had some form of contact left. "Guys..." Sammy began to say, but Ben interrupted her. "Not now Sammy, we need to get this message across soon" He replied, a little irritated. "GUYS!!" Sammy pointed behind us, her finger shaking. We turned, a gasp escaping my lips. A large dinosaur stood in front of us, a single horn on its nose. It let out a low menacing snarl. "A ceratosaurus..." Darius breathed out in fear. "I guess that's what was roaring earlier" Darius forced out a laugh, before whispering,

"Run!"

A/N (part 2 of an author's note??) Sooo I know Rexy needs to be introduced, she'll definitely be in this book. But I thought I'd leave her special appearance until a bit later haha. Hopefully this wasn't too boring of a read, and it does seem a bit like a filler chapter, but I just needed to introduce Bumpy again soo that's that.
