ONE

Lightening strikes through Manchester's protective clouds and rain falls from the sky to the ground, similar to the tears from my eyes. An echoing boom shocks through the beautiful city as I stand here facing him for the last time.

It wasn't meant to end up like this.
We weren't meant to end up like this.

We had elaborately planned our future together from children's names to homes to schools to wedding rings to date ideas and our journey was cut short. Our plan took a detour.

Lightening strikes through my heart as the words fall out his mouth. "I don't love you anymore. I'm sorry." His back turned before I could say a word, before I could say a final goodbye. Instead of the warm embrace I had gladly gotten used to, I was faced with the stormy skies of Manchester and the back of the man I loved.
