CHAPTER THREE ❛ nick goode, artistic genius ❜
TWELVE HOURS INTO THEIR AGREEMENT, and both Billie and Nick had so far done their part and tried to keep any awkwardness get in the way of what Nick thinks will be a great summer. The only part Nick failed to stay loyal to, was the snoring part.
Billie was never a morning person, but apparently, bunking with Nick Goode, meant she wasn't going to get any sleep at all. The boy howled at night.
Billie tried everything she could to block out the growling from the other side of the cabin. She tried holding a pillow over her head — that wasn't soundproof enough. She took sleeping pills — but stopped out of fear of getting addicted. She went to bed an hour earlier than him — this was to see if she could fall asleep before he started his snoring fest. Billie even used headphones and blasted her music — but this woke the "snore monster" (which is what Billie has since named her bunkmate) up, and he asked her to turn it down. Billie didn't tell him why she had used them in the first place.
