Chapter 6

TW- there is probably harmful physical contact

We went to charms then DADA and it finally came to lunch, so we all headed to the great hall, me, Mary and Alice were on our way to the hall when none other than Severus Snape and Mulciber came around the corner,

As we were walking I accidentally bumped into Mulciber,

"Oh. I'm-"

"Watch it mudblood" he spat at me

"Watch your mouth Mulciber ," Mary said defensively

"Mar it's fine, let's just leave these pathetic 'things' don't give them the attention they so desperately crave" I stated while trying to get Alice and Mary to follow me to the hall,

But before I could go anywhere Severus grabbed my forearm & said;

"I think it's you that's the pathetic thing here, just look at you... your kind is disgraceful"

"Get your hand off her snape!" Alice declared trying to pull me away, but his grasp just got tighter and tighter.

I could feel his grip clench my skin leaving a red mark, Snape was trying to scare me but unfortunately for him, it wasn't working.

All I did was look him straight in the eye for a moment till he felt intimidated and let go, my plane facial expression made him feel uncomfortable.

As he let go Mary directed me towards the great hall, at this point Mulciber and Snape were staring at me blankly not knowing what just happened, then they went on their way.

As we entered the hall, me still rubbing my arm where Snape had hold of me we sat down with Lily and Marlene,

"What took you guys so long," asked Marlene while her mouth full with a ham sandwich,

"Oh. Nothing just Mulciber and Snape being their prejudice selves" I replied;

"Alina it wasn't nothing, truthfully those two need to be put in their place" Alice Waleed putting some fruit onto her plate.

"What did they do?" Lily with her voice almost as quiet as a whisper

"Mulciber called her a 'mudblood' then Snape said a few things and grabbed her arm" you could hear how pissed Mary was getting

Then Mary got my arm to show the girls the mark he left, just as she was showing them the boys came over, and I quickly pulled my arm back and under the table so none of them would see,

I didn't want to worry them about something as small as this little encounter meant with those Slytherins.

"Hey girls, lily-pad," James said with a wink

"What do you want potter?" Lily was getting frustrated with James at the moment because of the little
'marauders' stunt earlier.

"Just needing to borrow Alina for a moment that's all" Remus' soft voice spoke making everyone feel a little less heated

I nod and got up,

we were heading to the common room,

As we walked to Gryffindor tower I saw Snape and his little
'death eater' group, when we got to the common room I asked:

"Soo, what's up?"

"We're out"

"Out of what?"

"Prank ideas, and I know you have some so spit it out"

"James, I don't have any plus why would I help you"

"Because you love me!"

"Who said I loved you... ew"

Sirius and Remus let out a few chuckles till James gave them a firm expression, obviously, they were bored and needed something to do which was quite strange because they never come to me for ideas normally, I'm just the person who helps them get away so the teaches don't catch them,

"Please Nightly we are gonna lose our reputation if you don't help"
Pleaded Sirius in a high pitch voice,

"Okay fine.." and we all went up to their dorm

We skipped third and fourth period to plan the prank which in all honesty looks amazing, as I was writing down the supply list Remus saw the red mark on my arm,

"What happened"

"What- oh uh. Nothing"

"That's not nothing"

"Remus just leave it, okay.."
I whisper trying not to draw any attention to the conversation

I go back to the list and I pass it to James then left the room,

Because we skipped third and fourth period I went to my Fifth lesson a little early, I had potions and unfortunately, it was with Slytherins...

I was Partner with Remus is potions and I was hoping that he wouldn't bring up the mark again,

As I took my set Avery and Rosier sat at the desk one away from mine, all the Marauders and the girls filed into the classroom and took their seats with Lily & Severus at the front of the class, Marlene & Alice near the back, James & peter near lily then Sirius & Mary behind me & Remus.

I could see that Remus looked a bit worried probably from the conversation we just had but fortunately, he didn't bring it up again,

Professor Slughorn wrote on the blackboard the method and ingredients for the potion we are making which is 'Confusing Concoction';
I gathered up all the ingredients then we started to brew.

"Okay, so we need scurvy grass, lovage, and sneezewort." I asserted trying to get the measurements right.

As Remus was stirring the potion some Gryffindors were passing notes to each other from across the room and one of those notes hit Avery in the back of the head, and he turned around,

"What the fuck was that for you filthy little Mudblood"
I look up to see Avery staring daggers into me,

"What have I done this time, and if you gonna insult me try using the correct terms cuz I'm pretty sure blood-traitor or half-breed are the words you're looking for Avery" I added looking up at him from the parchment I was writing on,

Remus just sat there hoping that this doesn't get out of hand, but like always it got out of hand.

At this point all eyes were on us apart from a few, Avery just scoffed;

"I always knew that people like you were useless and weak, your kind doesn't deserve to be here, but that doesn't matter, you'll will be gone soon enough" most of the Slytherins laughed at what Avery said but Alina did not,

She felt hurt by his words and thought she needed to do something about it.

"I don't know what you mean by 'your kind' but if you are referring to half-bloods and muggleborns you need to grow up;
We all have magical blood but it doesn't even matter if you're magical or not, no one is better than the other just because of your blood status or family. Yes I may be a half-blood but I can tell you now I'm no different from any of you apart from I'm not an insecure prejudice cunt like yourself"
I wail while pushing my chair back as I'm standing up,

The whole class where now in shock that someone finally stood up to Avery, my heart was pounding and my adrenaline was through the roof, I was furious for what he said about 'my kind'

I wanted to punch him right there right then but I stopped myself

I walked out of the class to calm down and I went on a walk, I didn't know where I would end up but eventually, I was outside a big old rustic door that I've never seen before.
