the arguments filled your ears for two days, each rivaling word pounded in your head. you couldn't forget the words... you couldn't forget the tone.
warning: slightly graphic, blood, war

you got out of beomgyus car as quick as you could. you stumbled out. you were afraid, that you were too late.
and you were.
both armies gathered on their halves of the water. the fairies, big and small, had their staffs, bows, and little orbs of magic gathering at their little hands.
the sirens, were armed with scaled armor of their passed, spears, and tridents.
at the front of each army were their commanders. yeosang, and jongho.
"may we chant our blessing before we begin." jongho hissed. "mother nami, goddess of the sirens, we beg you to give us protection and luck on this war."
yeosang hissed before doing his chant. "mother anivia, we beg of your protection and strength. fly by the side of our kinds, and give them hope."
you stood at the edge of the pier, your heart racing.
the two began to argue after chanting their blessings about their holy deities.
"and those are the fifteen reasons why you are an idiot." jongho snarled.
"takes one to know one." yeosang said, with a large amount of calmness in his voice.
out of pure anger, jongho lunged at the fairy.
you wanted to jump in and separate the two. fear and beomgyu were holding you back. his grip got tighter the more you struggled.
"let me go gyu!" you snapped, begging to stop the fighting. tears rolled down your eyes as the creatures begin to clash. the water was already turning red in some areas.
"beomgyu let me go. they're killing each other out there!" you argued, pulling so hard that beomgyu stumbled.
"because you won't be safe out there." he protested, kneeing you. out of shock you stumbled. you whipped to glare in his eyes, but your look softened when you saw the pain and regret in his eyes. you knew he felt bad, he was just trying to protect you.
you blinked more tears as you were forced to watch them kill each other.
one siren had a fairy pinned under the water, holding her till she would drown. some sirens would lodge their spears through the fairies bodies, that the wings lost their color.
the fairies threw their orbs at the sirens. some teamed up. some fairies held a siren up above the water while the archers and orb throwers killed. some sirens died immediately when they left the water.
it broke your heart to watch this. to know that there has to be so much blood spilled because of you. because you and the damn prophecy.
seeing the blood in the water wonder over to you, which made you fall.
you fall to your knees, well past crying at this point. each tear that fell into the water purified the blood from the water. but with the rapid fighting the blood came back instantly.
you looked up, wanting to find yeosang and jongho. at the same time you didn't.
jongho was stabbing at yeosang, but he kept on changing his size to dodge. he would get bigger and smaller to confuse him. he threw an orb every once in a while, missing.
you feared that jongho would soon figure out his pattern. small, small, big, small, orb. even you did. small, small, big, small, orb.
the two were getting dangerously close to each other. they wandered to the pier where you stood.
jongho was about to stab his spear, and yeosang was about to throw his orb.
everything fell in slow motion when you jumped. even the projectiles that flew at you.

three hearts broke as the lifeless body splashed in the water.
it was like the whole world stopped. for them and the three boys themselves. the three men who loved you were caught from tears.
beomgyu fell on his knees on the pier, whispering your name over and over again.
yeosang felt crushed. jongho felt depressed.
a giant wave and a giant gust of wind came from the distance.
from the wind flew a large bird, a blue bird that looked like it was made of ice. from the water swam a beautiful mermaid, who looked like she was a fish.
the goddess anivia growled as she perched on the pier next to beomgyu, goddess nami with her.
"sirens and fairies," anivia started. "you have both made the biggest mistake. i'm talking to you, jongho and yeosang."
"the prophecy goddess soraka sent you was failed. both parties failed to translate it properly." nami added.
"the prophecy was meant for yeosang, not you, jongho."
"yes. anivia asked soraka to send the prophecy to yeosang for a reason."
"and now... the fairies shall die. one by one." anivia vowed, flapping her wings, and flying off.
nami disappeared into the water, her tail splashing one last time with frustration.

as expected, the fairies died out. yeosang was the last one left. he visited y/ns grave one last time before hugging it, and dying along with it.
and that was the end of the fairies, which left the sirens in danger again.
