Chapter 8: Somebody

I close my eyes as I try to feel the cold breeze softly hitting on my face. I should have gone here sooner. It's nice, warm, and comforting sitting on this very bench. It's peaceful, away from the noises of people

"Hey, you're here" the sandwich lady from yesterday said, yes I'm calling her sandwich lady since I still don't know her name. Don't ask me why, I'm a little preoccupied talking about some things with her yesterday that made me forgot to ask. I lost track of time! The bell rang suddenly indicating that the lunch break is over, that made me leap and ran immediately to class since we have a math test. I aced it tho.

"I hope it's not a bother" I said and smiled at her "Here, I also brought food. This is yours"

"Gee, thanks" she said and sat beside me "Don't worry it's not a bother, I like your company anyway"

We sat there in silence while eating, just watching the movements of trees or other student pass by. Whatever that caught our eyes.

"What's your name by the way? Sorry I didn't get to ask, I completely lost track of time and forgot that we have a math test" I said while sipping on the choco drink we're sharing. Yes, my dumbass forgot to buy a drink

"Oh, hahahaha" she awkwardly laugh while scratching her nape "You don't have to know my name Miss Bae, I'm a nobody" she said

"But you know me?" I asked

"Of course, you're Irene Bae after all. Who wouldn't know you? Even my mom knows you" she said while munching on her food

"That makes me feel worse, I really want to know your name....... But how does your mom know me?" my eyebrows furrow as I get curios

She awkwardly laughed and scratch her nape again "Well..... my mom and I.......... we're kinda close..... and I kinda talk..... you know......"

I looked at her still confuse on what she means "What do you mean?" I asked

She inhaled deeply and gathered her thoughts before speaking "Well...... you're Irene Bae" she said while doing hand gestures "And everybody in this school knows you.......... and......."

"And........ ?" I asked and hinted her to continue

"Therefore....... I know you.... and...."

"And?....... "

"Everybody..... likes you..........and...... " she continued still doing weird hand gestures

"And? What?" I asked growing impatient

"So.... therefore......." she looked at me as if she's hinting something

My eyebrows furrow not understanding what she's trying to imply

"Ohhhhh..........." I said with my mouth on a round shape when I figured out what she mean

"Yeah......" she said and exhaled deeply "I understand if you don't wanna sit here anymore, I clearly do.... Its just.......... " she's holding her head with both of her hands and looked down "I-I just can't believe nor even imagine that I'll be confessing like this. 2 years on practicing in front of the mirror and it all went down in the drain. aaaaaaa" she said while pulling her hair

"OMG, calm down" I said as I grab both of her hands and made her look at me "It's okay, don't worry about it. And I'll still be sitting here, I won't let you enjoy this beautiful view alone" I said and assured her

"But you're the beautiful view" she replied

"Cheeseball" I said and slapped her arm while laughing. My throat felt dry on the revelation so I grabbed the choco drink and sipped on it. I can't believe this right now, I can feel a whole damn zoo and carnival on my stomach, like there's a party or rogue in there. But we just met. Maybe it's because of the sandwich yesterday? Or the choco drink?.....

"So, you're enjoying this indirect kiss since yesterday? I joked and pointed at the choco drink I'm sipping

"Sorry...." she whispered

"It's okay. I don't mind"

"Don't worry, I'll bring an extra next time. I just didn't thought you'll come back here again"

"It's okay, I like sharing" I said and I swear I saw her blush

"Don't make me fall too hard, I might have a hard time moving on"

"Oh, you're moving on already? You just confessed" I said and laughed at her

"I am, I know I don't have a chance"

"Who said that?" I looked at her squinting my eyes

"Please don't joke like that, Don't play with this" she said while pointing at her chest

"Your boobs?" I said and raised my right eyebrow

Her mouth is wide open, surprised on what just I said "You can't just joke like that" she exhaled loudly and slapped my arm "You're making me red. Oh my gosh" she then covered her face with both of her hands

"I still don't know your name" I stated "And don't you dare dodge the question"

"But..... I'm a...."

"Nobody?"

She nodded while looking at me

"You're not a nobody, you're a somebody. You're a somebody to me"

"Than just call me somebody"

"What?" I don't know how many times she made me confuse today

"I don't know why? But I kinda feel this won't last, so I'd rather be a stranger to you than someone who knows you but can't talk to you"

"How can you say it won't last? Do you think shallow of me?" I asked offended on what she just said

"People who I get attached with, leaves. I don't want you to leave. 2 years watching you from afar is okay for me, I can go on and on. I am contented of whatever this is right now"

I looked at her and studied her features. Who would leave a nice and pretty girl like her? Her doe eyes are mesmerising, the color of her eyes are like melted chocolates that satisfy your inner soul, and her nose is fair and pointed, not to mention her lips. It's plump and kissable like co---

I snapped out from my thoughts when the bell rang indicating that the lunch is over

"I should go" I said and stood up "I still have quizzes"

"Yes you should" she said and stood up also

I slowly turned my back and walked, I want to look back but I can't. My brains says no but my heart says yes, on scenarios like this, what am I suppose to choose? I walked and walked still thinking if I should look back or not. I'm choosing my heart this time. I looked back to see if she's still there but got disappointed when she wasn't.  I walked back to the classroom assuring myself that I'll see her tomorrow. She'll still be there tomorrow, right? She will be. She should be.
