UNDISCLOSED TENSION

Curled up on the couch with her legs rested over Diana's, Satine fought back tears at the sight of her. They had finally reunited after way too long. Six years they spent inseparable and in the space of a night, they were ripped apart.

She'd avoided the obvious question for long enough, the whole, why the hell did you leave town without telling me? Usually, Satine would have bluntly stated the obvious, it was in her nature to do so, but the subject required a softer approach.

They'd come back together, laughing as if they were never separated.

"Are you warm yet?" Satine's voice was low and soft, not dissimilar to how she normally spoke. But there was a warmth in the air, a familiarity as the twin flame flickered.

"Nearly," Diana shivered. "Does this guy not have heating?"

"It's sort of expensive..." Satine couldn't believe the words that were coming out of her mouth and neither could Diana. She had never been one to worry about money, that's what made Diana so intrigued by the woman sitting beside her.

"You're still the same, obviously minus a few things here and there," Diana looked her up and down. "But Star, you're like a new and improved version of yourself."

Feeling a proud smile rise to her face, Satine welcomed the compliment gladly.

"It's because of Tae. I suppose I needed humbling..."

"Yeah, you did..." Rolling her eyes playfully, Diana covered her face with a pillow as Satine went to hit her.

"Cheeky bitch."

Setting their mugs down on the table, they spent a few minutes just relishing in each other's company. The feeling of serenity welcomed them gladly, allowing them to completely relax in the presence of the other. They were closer than family, in many ways soulmates.

"So how did you two meet, ay? I may not have seen you in half a year but that doesn't mean I've forgotten how you work, missy. How did this guy manage to lock you down?"

Sighing, Satine gave in. "He's just... He's just great, Dots. The kindest, most sweetest guy. I don't deserve him, I really don't."

"He's something, alright. You're definitely a great match. Handsome, funny, completely laid back which I think is good for someone as bonkers as you. He really seems to worship the ground you walk on, Star."

Satine wouldn't have felt her body tense up as much if it wasn't for the slight awkward chuckle that was released from Diana's mouth after finishing her sentence. The truth was, Satine knew Taehyung was just her type. He was the kind of guy Diana would swoon over in high school, write books about in her spare time, and completely obsess over until it got weird.
