You sat with your laptop on your lap, scrolling through adoption centers. "Are we going to adopt kids or babies?" You looked up at Donna, giving a soft smile. "Babies." Donna sat down beside you, looking with you. When you both decided on the three, you went down to the village to get the proper supplies. Diapers, cradles, toys, food, and a whole slew of other supplies. The room you once stayed in was reworked into the nursery, applying fresh paint and decorating with the toys. You helped Donna make the clothes for the babies, so started the adoption process.
A social worker came out to the village and arrived to the manor. When news got out to the rest of your family about the adoption, they stayed hidden as to not interrupt the process. Baby gates at every flight of stairs, sharp edges were padded, everything was sanitized. You sat at the table with Donna, speaking with the social worker about the lives you wanted to give these children and how you would give them an education. "Alcina had tutors for her growing up, I'm sure she wouldn't mind recommending the school to us for our children." Donna quietly explained, keeping a hand in yours. I hope we are accepted for their adoption.
It had been a week since the social worker visited. Your family had decided to stay just a few more days, your father refusing to talk to you. As you crawled into bed, Donna crawled in behind you. Her hands rested on your stomach, then slowly slid up. "Donna!" You giggled out quietly, her lips pressing kisses to the back of your neck as her other hand slid down. "My family is here." Donna gave a dark chuckle, hearing you give a soft gasp. "You've been very stressed... Let me help." Just as her hand found it's way under your pants, there was a knock at the front door. "Motherfucker," Donna whispered, getting up and leaving you in bed alone.
You got up, going out to see what was going on. Donna had two carriers in her hands, the social worker coming in with the third. You helped them get the babies into their cradles, hearing them stir. Two girls and one boy. You stood there, smiling in wonder. Donna wrapped her arms around your waist, resting her head on your shoulder. "One happy family," Donna whispered. We're a family.
