today is the day.
we're moving forward with the plan to inspect the wall.
we wait until it's free time, when Ray is distracting mom not to soon after lunch.
Krone will be occupied with the children, hopefully.
but as I glance around, I don't see sister.
she must be inside, probably snooping around no doubt.

Don and Gilda give me a wave from a distance, signalling that Ray had just approached mom; which meant it was time for me to hide in the trees.
I gave a nod in return, jogging into the trees.

I grasped a hand on a branch, using everything I had in me to lift myself up. It's been a while since I've had to run or climb in trees.
I ended up being able to do it, though.
I peeked my head under the leaves, looking at the house.

I exhaled with a sigh, waiting.
I probably won't have to do anything other than sit here and wait.

my back rested against the tree trunk which sprouted upwards after the branch.
I stared down at my hands.

I hope Emma and Norman are doing well at the wall, hopefully they bear good news.

I wonder how it's going with Ray and mom.

suddenly a chill ran down my spine.
something is wrong.
I jolted my head towards the house and saw the familiar ravenette woman exiting through the front door.
Ray did not follow.
