-Saw an idea of Side Stories on another story I was reading. Side stories are going to be canon to the story. I'm calling it a side story because it's more about world building and making friends rather than the romance aspect

Y/N POV:

I was just lazing around on the weekend. I couldn't help but think about what Hayasaka did while I was trying to talk to that other girl. Is Hayasaka being protective? Clingy? I think I'm just overthinking this, she was just in a rush and I did promise I would walk her home. Also, I'm pretty sure I've met her before. A while back, when I was visiting my grandparents, I met this same girl at a park. She was really nice and kind, but there's no point on dwelling on the past. My lazy ass got a job at a coffee shop. I work as a part-time barista now. I could've been at home, playing Apex, but she had to ruin it.

[Two days ago]

I came home after playing some Football/Soccer with some kids at the park. The house was quiet, or should I say, too quiet. I felt that something was wrong.

I disregarded this ominous feeling and prepped dinner for my sister and I. My mom taught me how to cook a while back, so I've just been the house cook.  My sister always told me to go get a job at a restaurant, but I don't want to. It's a waste of time.

My sister was tired, as usual, but she told me something that sent shivers down my spine.

"Hey, Y/N, you should go get a job at the cafe near your school."

"Why though?" I demanded.

"Because your lazy ass needs to go get some experience. Staying at home all day isn't good, is it?" Sakura criticized, "I can also get discounts at my favourite cafe..."

I know I can't win this argument, she's too scary. If I protested even further, she would likely commit homicide.

"Fine, I'll work there. Just leave me alone though."

My sister's face was full of glee. I don't know how I love this f**king idiot. She's so mean to me sometimes, but she's reliable I guess.

[Present time]

I also heavily dislike the fact that this cafe is near Shuuchi'in Academy, but I guess it can't be helped.

I left the house to go to  my new job. Boy am I not prepared for this. I worked for a bit at my uncle's Starbucks, rush hours are a pain.

* * *

The café itself is actually really damn nice. Not only do they serve a lot of drinks, but they also have a bakery. The owner of this cafe is an American, Jackson-sama is really chill.

One of my co-workers is a f**king pain though. It's that one kid I met a long time ago named Kyro (refer to an earlier chapter).

"Hey L/N! We haven't talked in a while. I didn't know you got a job here. I'm happy to work with you!"

"Bro just shut up. I'm here to make money, that's all."

"Someone woke up grumpy." Kyro derided. "I'm just trying to make new friends."

I just ignored him from that point onward. The boss told me that today is one of our busier days, so I familiarized myself with the menu. It's a surprisingly simple menu. That said, I put on my apron as Kyro let in the first customers.
