Kabuto Yakushi walked around inside a Fire Nation machine. He didn't want to admit it, but he found himself impressed by the level of industrialization of the Fire Nation. They had technology the likes of which he and Orochimaru could only dream of. He took a seat next to Azula. On their right was Mai, sitting on a chair slightly below the level of the seat shared by Kabuto and Azula. On their left was Ty Lee, who like Mai, was on a chair that was slightly lowered than the seat Kabuto and Azula currently took.
"You may begin your report." Kabuto told an older man who approached them. The man nodded at Kabuto."This drill is a feat of scientific ingenuity and raw destructive power." The man reported as he paced before turning his back on his superiors to look ahead at the wall blocking Ba Sing Se from being invaded by the Fire Nation.
"Once it tunnels through the wall, our troops will storm their city. The Earth Kingdom will finally fall and you can claim Ba Sing Se in the name of your father. Nothing can stop us." The man continued, making sure that it was obvious that his last statements was addressed to Azula as he turned to look at her.
Before Kabuto could speak, Ty Lee gave a thoughtful look before she blurted, "Hm, what about those muscle-y guys down there?" Ty Lee looked through some kind of binocular type device attached to her seat and saw that there were Earth Kingdom soldiers inside a trench in front of the wall.
"Please, the drill's metal shell is impervious to any earthbending attack." The old man replied as he whacked the binocular type device, making Ty Lee yelp in surprise.
"Oh, I'm sure it is, War Minister Qin. But just to be on the safe side, Mai and Ty Lee, take the earthbenders out." Azula ordered.
"Finally, something to do." Mai replied as she spun a knife in her hand. She stopped and got up out of her chair.
"War Minister Qin, I have to ask... what assurances do you have that this device can stop... more powerful threats?" Kabuto asked. Qin laughed.
"What kind of threat would you mean?" Qin asked.
"Back when the Fire Nation tried to take down the Northern Water Tribe, and therefore take down the threat of the waterbenders forever, they were ill prepared for the raw power of Naruto Uzumaki and Avatar Aang. What can assure me that this drill can stop Naruto and his little monk friend? As much as I hate to admit it, the shinobi of the Hidden Leaf are nothing if not persistent and driven, and that makes them dangerous." Kabuto explained. Qin smiled confidently.
"If those fools even try to stop our drill from breaking through the wall, then I will allow the drill to show it's merits for itself." Qin replied, utterly confident in the idea that the drill could withstand the power of Naruto and Aang.
Meanwhile:
Naruto and the others were starting to approach the wall to Ba Sing Se when they heard Momo nearby. They then realized that Aang and Momo were approaching them, flying toward them. Aang landed and turned his glider back to a staff.
"Aang, what are you doing here?" Katara asked."Didn't you say you were going to look for Appa?" Naruto added.
"I was, but something stopped me.... Something big." Aang replied. Naruto gave Aang a curious look.
"How big? In what way? Big as in size wise or big as in... there is something bad happening and it's a big deal kind of big?" Naruto asked.
"It'll be easier if I showed you." Aang replied as he motioned for everyone to stand on a hard slab of earth with him. When the group was on the slab, he and Toph both used earthbending to make the slab slide up the wall.
"I know Naruto just asked... but seriously... what's so big that Appa has to wait?" Sokka asked. They then saw a giant drill and a bunch of Fire Nation machines surrounding it.
