Author greeting: The Naruto recap chapters are back from Book 1!!! Honestly, these chapters give me some time to watch and study the next Avatar episode to adapt (this time being the Swamp) while continuing to provide content for you all!! Plus, I love re visiting Part 1 Naruto's story. Anyway, I'm in the final 3 episodes of another anime named Yu Yu Hakusho (which I'm planning to make a sequel series fanfic for) and I'm kinda sad to see it end. I recently started Fairy Tail and My Hero Academia though, so I still got some anime to tune into after I'm done with Yu Yu Hakusho. (And yes, I will also watch Hunter x Hunter soon)
Naruto was unsure of where he and his friends were going after they escaped the city of Omashu/New Ozai. But he did feel disturbed by the fact that Kabuto Yakushi was in this world now. He knew that Kabuto was not done with him. Neither he or his master, Orochimaru was a fan of unfinished business.
"Naruto... what happened to you... after your time in the Forest of Death? You said that Kabuto's master, Orochimaru, attacked your village." Katara asked, worried about the mental state of her orange clad friend.
"There were still too many teams that made it after the 2nd test... so before we needed to fight in the 3rd round, we had to fight in preliminary fights against some of the other genin. Before the matches started, Sakura tried to convince Sasuke to forfeit the prelims since he was still messed up from our fight with Orochimaru in the forest, but he refused. Luckily, Sasuke won his fight with a move called the Lions Barrage." Naruto explained.
"And who did you have to fight?" Sokka asked.
"Kiba Inuzuka and his ninja hound Akamaru. My fight started after my friend Shikamaru beat a Hidden Sound Village genin..." Naruto started to explain.

The fight randomizer in the Prelims arena picked Naruto and Kiba to be the next fighters to face off.
"WELL IT'S ABOUT TIME!! THANKS FOR BEING PATIENT EVERYONE! I'M GONNA MAKE THIS WORTH YOUR WAIT!" Naruto yelled happily.
"Oh yess! Thank you! Thank you!! We can take this guy Akamaru!!!" Kiba said cheerfully.
It didn't take long at all for Naruto and Kiba to enter the arena. "The 7th round battle!! Naruto Uzumaki vs Kiba Inuzuka!" announced the proctor of the prelims.
"Woo-Hoo!! We lucked out, Akamaru! This fight is as good as won!!!" Kiba cheered.
"Don't be so cocky, you jerk!" Naruto replied.
In the present: "So, Kiba didn't see you as much of a threat." Sokka said in surprise.
"Not at the time. The last time he saw me before the exams, we were students in the Ninja Academy... where... let's just say it wasn't my easiest years. He expected to win easily, and it got me mad." Naruto explained.
"So what happened?" Aang asked.
"Kiba and I exchanged a few orders, then our fight began. Kiba made the first move..."
